I'm old enough to remember when people used to say that photographs don't lie, but for the last 30+ years, due to computers, morphing and AI now, it's hard to fully trust what you see in photographs.

From my school days I remember an old picture comparison with two pictures side by side. These showed nearly the same picture, the left one showed Stalin with other persons, while the right picture was edited to remove one person cause of censorship.

So photo manipulation might be not so new. This was back in the day of b/w photography.

That one, at least, is real. It was sold on eBay recently. I thought of bidding but did not.

Terrible quandary we are in! I used to think I could trust books. beside the point, I been seeing lately people stealing video's of others and put their own face swapped onto the body and then selling them as their own. In Instagram I see about at least 3 models using the same body. I sometime question who was the original?
