Another good list DE. I'm embarrased to say that I don't know what most of the women you mentioned look like... except for Lahti and Kirkland and the image of them in my mind's eye is certainly out of date by a decade at least. Another one that comes to mind is California Senator Barbara Boxer.

I was thinking MAYBE feminist attorney and professional pain in the ass Gloria Allred, but frankly she's got so much makeup on that I can't manage to use her name and the word. Sexy in the same sentence. See?

What's the name of that female Democrat who ran for President a few elections ago and cried when she dropped out of the race (for the nomination)? Brunette, shortish (shoulder length) hair, some crow's feet around the eyes? She was kinda cute in her own way. Not Geraldine Ferraro (who wasn't too hard on the eyes herself come to think of it). Also Molly Shannon, who's 7 months preggers on Conan even as I type this. In fact, a fair number of female SNL cast members probably fall into the 'strangely sexy' list... certainly non-traditional and not-generic in appearance, but funny and sexy nonetheless. From Nora Dunn to Gilda Radner, etc...

Also, the actress who plays "Leslie" the woman who's into instant gratification while waiting for her blind date in the Xingular wireless commercial.

Also, though she's probably not to the tastes of many who favor BB, Christine Baranski is probably too attractive to wear the 'strangely' prefix.

Also, Rita Rudner, comic/actress and talk show host.

What may be my last here ought to have been my first: Cokie Roberts.  Seems like only last year that I was getting my "Cokie fix" of this mature Washington pundit every Sunday, but since she and David Brinkley have vanished and she has settled into books and high-paid lectures, I seem to have let her slip from my mind.  I feel so fickle ...

Here's one that I don't think has been mentioned (and will probably get me a lot of weird looks): Barbara Walters!  Periodically seeing her as a guest on Letterman is a treat -- she drops the stone-faced interviewer persona and reveals a witty, charming, and straaaaangely sexy woman ... and she's got surprisingly great legs, too ...

I suppose that I can't help but agree, and would add to that list (from Kowalski's much-appreciated list) Bonnie Hunt. Great nominees. Again, if a woman is sexy, she's sexy and there's not usually much that's strange about it. I suppose that there ought to be an 'under-appreciated sexy' AND a 'strangely sexy' list for the truly off-the-beaten-track.

Palozzi I think. Marlee is already too cute to be strange, but Meridith is annoying enough to qualify for the strangely prefix. I don't remember the others, but trust in the judgement of the mighty purple robot.

See, now, I must be far along, because I've got no problem with Marlee or Meredith.  Marlee's sensuality in Children of a Lesser God lives on in my memory, and she's had a nice feistiness on The West Wing.  In these days of a Miss America like Heather Whitestone, I'd say the deaf woman has "arrived" for consideration.  Heck, Seinfeld dated Marlee (for the show), and Seinfeld juggled some babes.

As for Meredith, she keeps The View bearable for me now that Lisa Ling has gone.  A stunning mature woman who's obsessed both with her breasts and with saying "penis" -- that's rather hot right there.  Plus, hosting Who Wants To Be a Millionaire helps; a human being offers a million dollars, and even Regis starts looking good.

However, Nancy Pelosi doesn't do anything for me.
