Well the 28th is Bambi's birthday and, on the offchance she might be reading this, I wish her a happy one. She is much missed. More for her personality than her beauty and prodigious figure.

Luker here but last I remember, she and her landlord were going through a spat because he considered what she was doing pornographic and was trying to evict her. Further, her new expander implants became infected and had to be removed (so she had no implants at all). The last update I ever saw was that she was recovering but devistated by her loss of size.

Back to the shadows!

yeah i am confused by that statment as well.  Did Bambi ever do anything wrong?  Just seems she hit a LONG patch of horrible luck.  Her site just sucks at communication with her fans.

I make this post with a certain degree of trepidation, as I feel it may be tantamount to sticking my bloody little toe into shark-infested waters, so if the mods feel it prudent to remove this post at a later date, I will brook no complaint.

The issue of Bambi, her detractors, and her relationship with the community as a whole has become so tangled up and mired by rumors and 'he-said-she-said' accusations that it is virtually impossible for outsiders to determine what actually happened and who - if anyone - is really to blame.  As an outsider myself, I attempt to present what little I know as objectively as possible, pointing no fingers and making no claims to having the 'inside track' on anything.

A few years ago, Bambi had the misfortune of alienating a number of people who had been very supportive of her during the early portion of her career, donating time and personal resources to help her build the foundation of her site and productions.  Given that these individuals had a long-standing reputation within the expansion community for being kind and generous people, the news that they had apparently been ostracized caused a backlash against Bambi within the community, with a great many people either boycotting her sites, or - in more extreme cases - actively attempting to slander her reputation.  Whether Bambi truly intended to cause offense, or merely suffered an unfortunate mis-communication between herself and the parties involved is impossible to say.

Another major issue, as I understand, involved the ownership of some of the content featured in the pay sections of some of Bambi's websites.  I know for a fact that at least one of the comics featured on the Expansion Comics website was discovered to have been traced, panel for panel, from a comic featured in the BEA Story Club.  Another of her websites - the Expansion Mansion - also had a habit of appropriating artwork for its pay section that other artists had posted for free on their own websites or online.  Exactly how much of this was Bambi's doing is impossible to say, as it is entirely possible that the stolen or plagiarized material was donated to her site by art thieves posing as the original owners.  Regardless, these incidents only served to re-enforce the negative image of Bambi painted by her more aggressive detractors.

Lastly, according to a number of people I have spoken to, the structure of Bambi's websites seemed deliberately designed to make canceling one's subscription as difficult as humanly possible.  Many individuals found they were still being billed for a subscription months after they had seemingly canceled it, and attempts to get the issue resolved were often met with stony silence.  There were even reports of people having their subscriptions re-activated without their consent up to a year after cancellation.  Again, how much of this was Bambi's fault, and how much was simply due to poor management by her webmasters remains unclear.  She always seemed more heavily involved in the creative side of things - working as an actress and spokesmodel - while leaving the nuts-and-bolts of the business to others.

This constitutes what little I know of the controversy surrounding her - at least as far as her presence on the internet is concerned.  I never owned a subscription to any of her websites, so the bulk of my information is second-hand in nature.  Of the real-life tribulations she faced in her home-town I can say nothing one way or the other, though I can sympathize with her plight, as I know a number of people who've faced similar adversity in their attempts to contribute to the community.

Your trepidation is understandable given how folks sometimes personalize the perceived injustices done to people they barely know based on misinformation. There's a fine line between providing historical background/customer reviews (which is allowed) and importing controversy from another site/forum (which isn't). While I think your post falls on the 'fair' side of that line, the other mods and I are considering it re: the Owner's rules. If it needs to be dealt with we'll do so... in the meanwhile, it'll stay up... you've pointed out some things known to be factually correct, so in that regard, it has value to our community

I bare Bambi no ill will whatsoever (file this under customer review), but I wonder if, more than anything, her site suffered at the hands of natural selection.

I was genuinely tempted to join her sites a number of times over the years, but options now exist which, for me, offer better value.

Specifically: I won't name sites but I'd rather go to a store with multiple models, where you can buy videos one at a time than pay a monthly fee for one model using the same props, shooting in the same house, using the same acting.  And that's not even factoring in how irregular her updates could be.  Basically, I think she just got beaten in business, to which I can only say "c'est la vie."

I think the forum at her site is great, but I suppose that's not the business part.

Which is a real shame, because I get the feeling that she quite genuinely loves what she does.

If she were to go the Sega route--stop producing the hardware, as it were--and become a freelance model, I would totally buy her stuff every now and then.  But the whole infrastructure just wasn't working for me.

I appreciate the forewarning, and apologize if I've caused yourself and the other moderators any undue stress.  I sincerely hope I have not inadvertently imported controversy from other sites and forums to this one, as that was not my intent.  My post was motivated only by a desire to share what little information I had regarding the subject being discussed, in the hopes that it might prove helpful, or at least provide some context concerning the current state of affairs.

As I said, much of my information comes second-hand, and certain facts are impossible for me to verify one way or the other without becoming mired in precisely the sort of controversy we're seeking to avoid.  As I stated earlier, should the moderators deem my post too inflammatory (whether by intent or simply by virtue of the information presented therein) and choose to delete it, I will not complain.  The last thing I want is open up old wounds or otherwise spark an argument.

I post some morphs now and again to the Expansion Mansion.  Bambi hasn't been seen around there in a while, and her two personal websites (belly and boobs) haven't been updated in a year or two.  The forums and the comics websites are, however, still around.

Roger, congratulations on your debut post (you might have gone with Roger Oveur as a tribute to the movie "Airplane," but this is fine) and your choice of thread.  I feel a slightly proprietary interest in Bam, ever since she dropped the surname Blimps and took up my suggestion of Blaze, and your necromancy brings a sweet twinge of nostalgia.  Thank you.

And shame on you for raising false hope that perhaps Ms Blaze had returned to illuminate our little corner of the world ;)

Jesting aside, the disappearance and continued absence of the elegant beauty that is Ms Blaze fair brings a tear to my eye.
