Look at it this way:

Do you really want a doctor who is uncomfortable with large implants, and is reluctant to do both a lift and an augmentation at the same time, doing the operation?

Of course not!

Look around for a doctor that is willing and able to give you what you want. Let him/her know you've had a problem with another doctor, so you'd like it in writing.

Good luck!

... the more I think about it, the more I think that the doc we saw just wasn't COMFORTABLE doing both simultaneously (its more challenging) and there are those docs that will be comfortable doing this.

I have this little story to tell about doctors... not exactly a plastic surgeon, but actually a dentist. A couple of years ago I had to go remove my wisdom teeth. I went to this one dentist who made x-rays of all 4 of my WT and told me my two upper ones were easy and he could do them fine. The lower left one, it was tougher, but he could do it, but he wouldn't risk doing my lower right one cuz it was too complicated (it was growing sideways). He looked like a really competent dentist and I said okay. He removed my upper ones with no problem and they healled fine. He removed my lower left badly, and left me with a permanent problem on my jaw-bone. Because of that, I was really afraid of looking for another doctor to remove my other tooth (since the less complicated one left me problems, the other more complicated would be much more difficult and could leave more problems). Well, it took me a while before I decided to go to another dentist who saw the x-rays and said he could do it. I went there and he actually did it fine and it healed up perfectly, even better then the other one! And he also made a cheeper price then the other doctor! A better work, with more confidence and less price...

Well, if it could happen with me in this example, I bet it could happen to you too... you could find a better doctor, a more confident one, who would not be affraid of doing both surgeris together and to a great job at it, without charging more for it... you'll just need to research... a lot!!!
May I suggest you looking at this other site of a girl named Chelsea who wanted to have really large breast implants and found a doctor who would do it for her... you could check it out, and perhaps email her for ideas or information on this doctor...

Well....... if any situation ever called for thorough and patient research, it would be this search for the Right Doctor. I'm sure he or she is out there. I can't speak from experience, but I can only imagine that most of the docs out there take the conservative/safe/money-grubbing view of this guy. If he's shaking you down for that consultation fee, that sucks. Otherwise, take his bug-eyed reaction for what it's worth and be glad you are not in HIS hands.

Good luck you guys.

I just want to thank all the folks in here for the support. I kinda need a place to vent and people on here have been very supportive and nonjudgmental. I know its only one consultation but my wife was SO disappointed when it was over, you could see it in her eyes. She's so set about this, her heart is really in it and she got shot down pretty hard. She had pictures of women to show him and three pages of questions and after his negative comments about large breast size, ditched both. We were cordial and stayed throughout the entire consultation and even got a quote on breast lift surgery ALONE, but once he made those comments, that was it..... But things have gotten a lot better since. We are both optimistic about the next doc. He's assured us from the get go he will do what my wife WANTS as long as its safe. We never got any guarantee like that from the first doc. The major question is whether he is willing to do a lift and a large augmentation (500 cc's+) together or if its too risky a procedure. My wife did run into a woman on another board that had a lift and 550 cc's implanted at the same time so there are docs out there who will do this. Hopefully this guy is one of them.

Great docs all around the country - you just have to find them.  Plenty of "God-complex" pretentious a-hole doctors too.  F-them.  They dictate to people in an egalitarian demeanor 'their' ideal of beauty.  Yeah, sure.

Do the research - you should be able to find a doctor within a few hours driving distance who will give you what you want.  Poke around implantinfo.com and you'll get in the right direction.

I'm not so sure where the tahoe clinic is located. If anybody has a website address or some other information, please let me know. My wife's second consultation is only a few days away. We are driving out of town but its only about an hour away. This doctor has more experience than any other doctor in this city and I have a good vibe about him. He will do what the patient wants as long as its safe. If he won't do the lift and augmentation simultaneously, I don't know who will. I got some feedback from women who went to this very doc and they were very pleased. Basically, he suggests the size implants for the woman's frame but lets the woman ultimately decide the size. I just don't know if their is a limit to implant size when doing a lift simultaneously. I do know that he isn't anti-big boobs like the first doc is. If he doesn't work out there's a third guy lined up but I don't feel confident in him, he kinda reminds me of the first doc. I have a feeling that by the end of this week my wife will have a surgery date lined up.

Don't stress about the Tahoe Clinic mate, They seem pretty good. this is where you'll find em:

http://www.tahoeclinic.com/breast/br_enlrg.html

They're in Canada

I brought it up earlier in the thread, only just fished out the addy. We (my fiancee and I) were curious a lil while back about BA, decided to check out some of the free consults online. She's 36C, we were looking into going up to DD/E. They made it clear they could quite easily do that with 700's (she's only little  ) So I reckon you should check em out if you get stuck. Hope that helps!

"Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery in Lake Tahoe, California, CA, liposuction, breast augmentations and rhinoplasty"

Umm... California is significantly warmer than Canada.

Well, we're on the RIGHT coast! Probably only about an hour or two away by plane. I have a good feeling we won't need the tahoe clinic though. We'll keep you all informed, next consultation only a few days away.
