I'll bet you didn't know that the National Football League is a 501(c)6 NON-PROFIT organization?

Yep. All those billions (nine of them per year!) the League makes are untaxable....

And it ets the League extort (there's no other word for it) things like exempting all NFL employees from local taxes in the host city during Super Bowl week.

No other major sports league in the US shares this status.

The snapping of pitch from a burning log,
The faint scent of pine filling the room.
Flames leaping about as if it were a ballet
Performing for its audience.
The soft, comforting glow of candlelight,
Bringing with it serenity and quiet thoughts.

My Goodness! Are you suggesting that we actually make billionaires pay their share of the cost?

Well, I'm glad that the experts are all saying that the Indianapolis Colts will crush the Ospreys this Sunday. We are used to seeing our 'Hawks lose, and we love them when they do.

In college I used to date a daughter of the dude who owned the Colts a thousand years ago when they were in Baltimore. But she saw me for the shallow, empty person I am. And that was long before the owners were all billionaires.

I really hope the Broncos put a spanking on the Cowboys.I wanna see Tony Romo crying on the sidelines as the clock is winding down to halftime and they're losing 45 to 7.
I wonder how Manning is going to hold up once the weather gets cold.I'm talking about his health.Even though Brady has more Super Bowls,I would take Peyton over him anyday.

By the way, "The NFL: League of Denial" will be showing next week on PBS. Check your local listings. It's the investigative piece about long-term brain trauma in American football that the NFL cooperated with until they found out that it was serious and investigative.

Hmmm.

The Ospreys didn't disappoint, losing 34-28.

Now we can love them again.

Certainly.  All they needed was a Coach back and Defensive Coordinator that was worth a flip.  We had one of the best offenses in the NFL and the WORST Defense in the NFL last season and still managed to have a decent record.  Now that we have both a good offense and defense, it's definitely making a positive impact.

Is there another quarterback in today's game that can have such a great game until there's 3 minutes left and totally fuck it up like Tony Romo?
I don't know how many times he has thrown an interception or fumbled the ball late in the 4th quarter of close games.

It's a gift.  ::)

What takes talent is the teams in baseball that can take an 8-1 lead into the ninth inning, and lose.

Drew Brees, who's usually solid no matter who he plays, didn't seem to be there yesterday.  Saint's blew the game in the last 3 minutes.  OH well, 5-1 ain't horrible...

On behalf of the Ospreys, I agree.  8)

They would make an interesting Superbowl.

The Ospreys needed a rest, so they knocked off the Cardinals tonight. That gives them ten days. Disappointment reigns tonight in Seattle.
