Watched the Season 10 premiere of Criminal Minds last night: looked as if JLH put on a few inches in all the right places. The scene where her character is approaching the front door of her house towards the end of the episode, gave some particularly nice profile shots.
Yes, in that entire premiere episode she was shown in a rather camouflaged manner which we found nice, especially since she is an actor "known" for her curves. That scene near the end felt almost like it was deliberate as it was almost out of character given what the preceding hour had shown. It felt almost like the director was thinking, OK now that we have established that she is a tough street-wise agent we need to show that she has a maternal side... how do we do that?... Oh, yeah boobs!
This was the first time I have ever watched an entire hour of JLH and I think she acted well. Never seen any of the other shows she has been in.
Another telling scene is right at the very end when she sits down to reassure the girl who was asleep on the couch. In a testament to the full volume of her chest, as she sits down they are large enough to impact the top of her legs as she settles into the cushions. They actually are boosted upward a bit, again this is fleeting as within moments they have her hugging the upset girl to her bosom as they fade to black. It all works well and is one of the few moments when her breasts actually are "used" and it makes sense in the scene. Very professional.
Criminal Minds does appear to have a "type" when it comes to their brunette female agents. JLH is now the forth in a line of surprisingly similarly shaped women.
I could not help by draw parallels between JLH as a shorter version Mariska Hargitay (from Law & Order SVU) especially in the way she interacts with the other characters.
