Although the natural first reaction is that DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball is just a cheesy way to showcase the nubile young girls of DOA in skimpy swimsuits (although that's more than enough reason for me), it looks as though it will actually be quite an impressive game: in addition to the volleyball tournament, there are several games within the game, such as an arcade where you can play an abbreviated version of DOA3, a casino, and the no doubt gratuitous (hopefully very gratuitous) dance contest and beauty pageant. All I have to say is: there'd better be heavy dose of Kasumi.

Oh, and the US version better be every bit as jiggly as the Japanese and European versions, dammit.

Now that the price of the Box has dropped (meaning there probably won't be another price drop for some time), I might have to make room next to the PS2...

I think they need a breast size adjustment dial in DOA personally.

Well in the Japanese version of DOA2:HC for the PS2 there was the age setting that increased bounce, but it didn't work in the US versions for the DC or PS2.

BTW, I watched DOA:EBV video and Tina's breasts don't seem to jiggle as much as that one girl with the brown hair (she's new to me since I think she was added in DOA3, which I don't have since I have Sony's box and not Microsoft—maybe later though), this video is either without full bounce on, or they scaled back the bounce, or it implies that Tina is un-naturally firm.  They also show the ability to buy new changes of swimwear and accessories for the characters.  I wonder if any of the swimsuits will be as interesting as the ones in bonus pics on the DOA Dreamcast or DOA:HC for the PS2 discs.

I've seen the video too, and I assume you're referring to Hitomi (who's playing with Ayane), not the girl with the short brown hair, who's playing with Tina.  I can't really tell about Tina's jiggle in the clip.  Who knows -- maybe she has implants...

As to the swimsuits, the purple bikini Ayane wears at the beginning of the clip looks like the one from the DOA2:HC gallery to me.  I'm sure Tecmo will use the artwork they've already created as much as they can.  They also had some interesting swimwear in the first Dead or Alive, but the resolution on the PlayStation 1 wasn't that great.

Well knowing how Microsoft doesn't like to share (Halo anyone) I don't think that we'll be getting DOA:EBV any time soon for the PS2.  So either I wait for a few other titles for the X-Box to interest me enough to make it worth my while to get one, or I convince my friend to get one (he's been looking for a "NextGen" system since he bought his DreamCast about 3 or 4 months before Sega discontinued it)—I convinced him to buy DOA2 for the DC since he already had the DC.

BTW, what's freaking me out right about now is how much this one girl I know has a haircut that's a cross between Hitomi's hair and Kasumi's undone hair (like that one shot in the gallery for DOA2:HC for PS2).

Yes, unfortunately it looks as though DOA is exclusive to the X-Box now. However, between DOA3, DOA:XBV, Gun Valkyre, and Halo (which by itself is said to be reason enough to buy the big black box), there should be enough justification to spend even more of my paycheck on escapes from reality.

I can wait, however, since the PS2 is my first foray into the video game world since a device called Intellivision - which means I have, among other treats, the entire Final Fantasy series to experience.

I know this is off topic, but the games that really sold me on the PS2 were DOA2:HC, MGS2 (though now that MGS2: Substance—basically MGS2 director's cut—is coming out I'm not sure what to do), GT3-A Spec, and GTA3 (now for PC).  I bought ICO instead of renting it because it's the first Prince of Persia style game (art direction and play style—I'm a fan of the first 2 POP games) I've seen in a while, the puzzles aren't so contrived (they actually match the areas of the game beautifully) as other games in the genre, and something like that seems like a great milestone in games.

BTW, don't forget the Jet Set Radio game for the X-Box, it's another reason for me (or my friend) to get the system.
