I'm surprised that you've never heard of the term "baps" before...but here's a few pieces of data on the term.
In Scotland, a
bap is a yeast roll, recipes for which can be found here:
www.geocities.com/NapaValley/9412/baps.html. Also, it is a very common British slang term for tits.
The acronym BAPS stands for a number of things, such as:
-- the British Assocation of Plastic Surgeons (on topic, in a strange way!);
-- the Bochasanwasi Shree Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (a socio-spiritual organization with its roots in the Hindu Vedas);
-- the Bloody Awful Poet Society (
www.bloodyawfulpoet.com);
-- the British Astrological & Psychic Society;
-- the Biomechanical Ankle Platform System;
-- Biodiversity Action Plans (
www.ptes.org/BAPs/);-- the Burmese-American Professional Society(
www.bapsusa.org/baps_main.html);-- Buenos Aires Provider Solutions (
www.baps.com.ar/); and
-- Bakery and Production Systems.
The most famous use of the term is in the phrase Black American Princesses. In fact, there is a (pretty dire) film made in 1987 with that very title (BAPS), starring
Halle Berry: see the following links for more on the film:
