Sorry. i was shocked by the size of the breasts in that picture. Very descriptive Palomine! Try to woo these once a year women with a long and endearing litany on what their breasts do to you. It may get you further than you think.

To clarify: I did not approach her because it strikes me an unseemly (excessively forward) to do so in such a situation. Though my choice causes me some angst, I prefer to behave in public according to a certain set of principles... including NOT hitting on strange women I randomly encounter on the street. Such a decision may have denied me something good, but not all choices are easy. JMHO.

Its a sensible rule to live by. Im constantly annoyed at all these women flinging themselves at me in the street. Act with some dignity please!

Its true though, you have to have a code of behaviour in public. What we want to do and what we know is the right thing for us to do are often conflicted.

You know, I have an idea whereby one might be able to further such contacts despite principles or just plain diffidence (and Palomine, while your principles are laudable, you do admit to kicking yourself for missing such an opportunity).  This would be especially useful to those living in L.A. where such sightings appear to be be fairly commonplace.

Obviously, most girls would hesitate when a stranger offers her a ride, or even a conversation: there always a risk of dealing with a crazy (you aren't, of course, Palomine, but how could she know?)

Here's the idea: carry with you business cards with an email address.  If your real profession is something conceivably beauty-connected, like photographer, publisher, graphics designer, all the better.  If not, you could put something like "BEA Moderator" (true for Palomine) or "BEA Talent Scout" (anyone with the guts to carry this out qualifies as that).

When you sight someone like this, especially if she doesn't appear hostile, smile, hand her a card, and say "Please email me".  Then just walk away (unless...unless...she calls you back...but then, you're in, at least for a conversation).

In this way you are offering her an opening without risk to her, and who knows, she might just take you up on it.

Understood. Sorry if it sounded like I was standing in judgement on you, Palomine. I've been in that situation, too.

That's how I did it with Melody and should have made that clear in my response to Palomine. While it is true that anyone can have bogus cards printed up -- as well as computer-generated ones -- it might make one look a bit more professional to have them and to show that you're willing to part with serious money for the privilege. All of what I was into and my contact info was on my card, though Melody had no way of verifying it in a parking lot. This was 1985, after all. And I did hand her a fifty dollar bill (glad I had it on me) to show good faith, fully knowing that she might still walk away, an option I gave her. Additionally, I might have never followed up after getting those few shots in the car...though I think she was smart enough to know that there wasn't much money to be made from a few lousy Polaroids.

I also didn't think that I would ever be able to reproduce that success and indeed I haven't. So, as I said to Palomine in another reply, his hesitancy is fully understood. Every situation is different and all reactions, if any, have to be customized to the events as they unfold.

I wasn't taking offense at replies... but simply wanted to clarify: while I do/did 'kick myself' for letting what might have been an opportunity for physical joy slip by, I also would probably do the same thing again in an identical situation... as explained: I don't feel obligated to explore (let alone try to aggresively exploit) every such potential opportunity that crosses my path.  Of course, I could rationalize her acknoledgement of my admiration with that smile as an invitation, but even that would be stretching things a bit.

I think I'll take a pass on the "talent-scout" approach too... that's as old as the hills around here!

I simply saw a luscious looking woman and thought that some folks might like hearing about it, that's all. Nothing more need come of it.
