A little over two months ago, Cheyenne tripped and broke her arm.  Two weeks later, since the bone wasn't knitting properly, she had to have surgery.  They put in a plate and screw to hold the bone together.  

Two weeks after that, she developed an infection in the incision.  Antibiotics cleared that up.  A couple of days later she found out that her insurance isn't covering all this.

Two weeks later, while she was doing her hand exercises, she heard a pop and her thumb stopped moving.  She had popped a tendon.  She had surgery scheduled for the 6th, but her bloodwork showed problems with her kidneys.  She appears to be in stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease.

Bottome line.  She needs cheering up!  Drop her a line, send her stories.  Do something!!  There's only three of us, besides her, at her forum and we can only do so much.

This is my 5000th post.  The very second before I was set to make a post down to the M thread in Off-Topic, a flashing envelope from Cheyenne appeared, and I'd rather address that first.

Cheyenne sounds like a very proud woman, highly independent both in her medical crisis, and her art, and from what she indicated to me she mainly likes to know that people know and like her art and that people will be be happy to talk and conceivably even collaborate with her whenever she makes it back here.

Cheyenne, I salute thee and wish thee well.

She always seems like such a bright, facinating person in her writings; I hope this current turn of events doesn't bring her away from that general positive outlook toward life. She's a very special person, and I hope her luck takes an upswing REALLY soon!

 Having had an injury requiring surgery to fix not that long ago, I can sypmathize (that's what I get for lifting things that weigh almost as much as I do! ). Please relay our sincere wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

I have a congenital kidney from birth and went thru a kidney scare 2 years ago. I had a grapefruit size benign tumor removed from my only kidney. I was born with just one kidney.

Rules I live by. drink a full glass of water before bed and first thing in the morning. No vitamins supplement, or protien powder or any other man made elixer. Only real natural food. No excessive protien diet. The excessive protien is up for debate on a disease kidney. But health food supplement that have been bonded to granulated form is very hard on the kidney ripping the filter apart. After researching this, I don't healthy people should take them. The juicer machine is a better way to get your dose of vitamins with real food in it's natural state.

You only need 1/3 of one healthy kidney to stay off dialysis machine. Read all of over-the-counter medication for warning sign and ask the pharmacist with your concern on the kidney tolerance.

I pray that she will make it thru and know that we are praying. Also I'm in debt from my surgery, keep that in mind when you vote for health care reform. Sad that Micheal J Fox became a Democrats after he was struck with an illness, and the sad truth is that nobody is immune from sickness. We all could take our turn and reach into the bucket of life and pull out some nasty shit. It's when you get hit with something that test you to make you fight back going forward with it. So stay strong and hopefull.

If she lives in the stats she can probably get some government help for the bills. That was the route I had to take as an under retirement age and over 21 white male as I don't qualify for any sort of medical besides that.

I'll send some prayers her way but you know she is more then welcome here at the BEA and always has been. I remember sending a note to her and posting on her art at renderosity some time ago but never received any sort of reply....not like I go by anything but Imaginos in 99% of the places I go on the web

In any event, I've talked to Cheyenne Moon on some occasions and I don't think that health problems are exactly out of the blue... but this certainly sounds rather serious and the cracks in the American health care system are pretty big.
