Taco Bell. A tostada, burrito supreme and a soft beef taco. Yes, I know, it's fast food poison but its so ..... great to me. I'm from Mexico and I know my relatives in Veracruz, Orizaba and Puebla would be apalled but I LOVE the stuff. God, I'm hopeless .....

Raisin bran again. After a few hours of yard work this evening I was too much of a mess to go out, and was to wiped to cook. That, and I'm trying to avoid delivery pizza for a while, it's just too easy and I need too do better.

I thought I was going out tonight, but those plans didn't materialize. By way of consolation, I stopped by Trader Joe's and brought home fixings to prepare the following meal:

A thick and juicy little steak cooked just quarter notch past black and blue (seasoned and seared crusty on the outside, alarmingly rare inside) with sliced crimini mushrooms I fried crisp in a bit of bacon fat.
A big pile of thinner-than-a-pencil asparagus, steamed al dente and then buttered.
A rosemary-asiago roll toasted and smeared with artichoke antipasto.
All of the above washed down with a dark german lager with lime.

For dessert, a spiked (i.e.: moderately alcoholic) ice coffee with some almond cookies.

While cooking and eating, I watched VH1's "One Hit Wonders of the 80s" marathon (not for the first time either) with the volume turned up loud.

Not a bad night, considering it's a Saturday spent at home. ;)

A ham and cheese sandwich, some strawberries, way too many brownie bites, assorted cheeses, and a bottle of vino at a local winery while sitting on their patio chilling out to the band.

Cold original recipe KFC. Fried chicken tastes better after a day in the refrigerator.  :)

If I ate that way, I would be almost as healthy as Chuck Norris.

Half a medium delivery pizza(pepperoni and Canadian bacon) and a slice of warm, home made, black raspberry pie.
