You should also check your system for presence of the file "SirC32.exe" (its location is in the same directory - X:/>/WINDOWS/SYSTEM), because the previously pointed virus can also create the file with this filename (I had them both).
As concerning the viruses in graphic files, your opinion is wrong, - there were about 40 viruses, created between 1995 and 2001 (and about 6 viruses of this kind were created before 1995), which were available to infect graphic files and to "migrate", using these infected files. However, there were some visible modifications in code structure of these files - the beginnings and the ends of bodies of infected files were different of these ones of not-infected files. And don't forget about the flash-animations ! Now this field is very perspective for "techno-rats".
Any binary file can be infected by virus, - the "viruses-free" are only the files, containing the plain text code only,- the single thing is to develop the modes of infection and of "migration" for these viruses.
