Ever see a photo of someone who'd always been middle-aged or elderly during your lifetime, and been astounded by how good looking (or just different) they were when young? Here's one every USA voter should know. Can y'all think of some others?

I've seen someone who when young was ugly, but in later life looks much better.  mainly men in that case.

 IMO, John McCain isn't bad looking now... almost 45 years after that picture was taken. Of course, IN that image, with the benefit of (relative) youth, he looks like a real-life Steve McQueen or Paul Newman: an actual war hero who landed fighter jets on carriers, survived years in a POW camp, etc... Who says everyone looked bad in the 1970s?

I have all kinds of respect for the guy, even if I object to some of his politics. Of course, the fact that he sold his soul to the dev... I mean to the RNC in '04 as he shilled for Bush's re-election campaign (you could SEE how much it pained him to do so... his disgust was clearly visible on his face in every shot... but he did it anyway, since he wanted/needed party support for his own '08 run) is something that disappoints me to no end.

I think that either Dem candidate will beat him in November (barring incident) ...more because folks are so sick of the past 8 years than having anything to do with McCain himself. Maybe he'd accept the offer of Sec'y of Defense... though probably not.

You can say that again...when she was still a princess, she was a major hottie. You can say all you like about how pretty Diana, Princess of Wales was, but in her youth, QE II was even prettier, no doubt.

I'd have to agree totally with that analysis.

It's the way I've called it too - whatever JMcC does, he'll still lose in November.

A few years ago I was at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta. Back in a corner is a formal portrait of QE II about the time the museum was dedicated. While I was looking at it, a guard came up and mentioned that it was her. I said that I knew it was, but I'm an American, and it was so odd to see a member of the royal family with all her clothes on...
