/me cringes

Wow, I don't know what to say.  I'm getting a little woozy-headed just thinking about it.  (I would get woozy whenever I tried to consult with a doc about a vasectomy.  I'm a bit touchy about that part of the body; ended up getting the snip under a general.)

I was going to ask if it might be a varicocele, but I guess they've already ruled that out.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in updating.  I had surgery to remove righty on the 13th.  Everything went well with that, though I was in a bit of pain for about a week.  It was in fact cancer.  There are two basic types of testicular cancer, with one being slower moving and more treatable with just radiation.  As my luck would have it, I had both types.  So it looks very likely that I will be going down the Chemotherapy and radiation path.  Don't know any of that for sure, but I have an appointment on Wednesday and hopefully I will learn more then.  Thursday if the big day I'm waiting for, have a CT Scan to find out if it has spread anywhere else in my body.  That of course is what I am most concerned about.  Testicular cancer doesn't terrify me so much, because it is so treatable, but if it has spread elsewhere I am going to be very scared!  Thanks so much again for all the well wishes!  You guys are great around here and I am happy to call myself apart of this community!

Thanks.  I guess I shouldn't have said thursday was the day I was waiting for since I won't find out any results for a few days after that though.

Hello everyone!  Short update on whats going on.  Got the results of the CT scan and it showed no signs of cancer spreading so that was a very big relief.  Wednesday morning I have a PET Scan.  Not really sure but it is just a different way of looking at the same things i guess.  Hopefully that will turn out good too!  Assuming things go as planned I will be starting Chemo on the 21st.  Sounds like it will be only one cycle and will only last three weeks.  I'm sure it won't be fun but it will be worth upping the chances of it coming back from 85% if I do nothing but watch things closely, to 95% chance with chemo.  I'm only 28 so I'm going to worry about the best possible end result rather than a month or two of feeling like shit.  So, thats what is new with me.  Wish me luck! I'm feeling pretty confident about things right now.

Sounds like you caught it early enough.  Good luck with the stuff ahead.  You'll probably outlive most of us.

My cousin was the same age as you now. When she first found out, she had cancer in her inner leg {The name of it, I forget} after she gave birth to her oldest daughter.
She went through the how course with Chem. And Radiation twice or three times, it escapes me right now. Knock on wood it gone now for the last eleven years and had two more babies that are perfectly healthy. Faithfully she goes to her doctor every three months to check that it still gone or **83**.
So Mcgarp, just have a little faith and think positively about it. I always say the ones who get sicker are the ones who always think about death all the time.
The Doctor who brought me into this world once told me "When you're born and takes in you're first breath of life, you are already dying, for everything in the entire World and beyond  will come to an end . . .  so never think of dying and enjoy life too fullest and you will stay young in mind and soul and die with a smile on your face"

Update.  The PET scan turned out very good also, so that is obviously another relief.  Start Chemo on Monday.  Hope it goes as well as possible.
