Ok, maybe my subject isn't fair cause we all make mistakes, but....  I digress.  About a year ago noticed a very small bump on one testicle.  Think I'm being safe and head to the doctor.  He tells me he can't even really find it but it must be nothing, don't remember the name but it has to do with sperm built up or going in the wrong place or something.  Harmless.  I go home relieved.
Now here we are a year later and it hasn't gong away but got a little bigger.  Today I went back to have it checked.  New doctor today says surely it is not what the previous doctor thought.  So tried to catch something early and got nowhere!    SO, going for and ultrasound on thursday to find out more.  Add insult to injury, or injury to insult?  He asked if I had anything else bothering me and I mention a shoulder had been hurting a while ago but now just felt weak.  Does a few checks on that and decides I need an MRI to check the rotator cuff (SP?)  Doing that back to back with the ultrasound on thursday.  Oh yeah, blood preassure was way high and need to go back and get that checked a bunch of times!  Not my day!  Did I mention I am terrified of doctors and I'm only 28!  Hope all goes well I guess.  Thanks for letting me vent, much appreciated.

If you're terrified of doctors, your blood pressure may only be high while you're at the doctor's office (which is called "white coat hypertension").  Before you let anybody put you on blood pressure medication, measure your blood pressure at one of those kiosks in a supermarket or drug store several times a week, or buy a home blood pressure monitor and take your pressure a couple of times a day for a few weeks.  If you have white coat hypertension, your pressure will be more normal (120/80 or lower) when you measure it outside the doctor's office.  (Since they already have you worried about your blood pressure, you'll probably tense up the first few times you measure it yourself, so don't worry if the first few readings are also kinda high.)

I certainly agree with that, gonZo. I've been working to control my blood pressure for about six months (At 62 it's more expected than at 28); but I should confess that my bp goes down in my doctor's office.

Just an update.  The ultra sound didn't go as I hoped.  When doctors say there is only a small chance it is not cancer, I'm gonna guess it is! Have an appointment Monday for a biopsy and I'm pretty sure by this time next week I'll be one ball lighter!  Still haven't heard about the shoulder other than the doctor is pretty confident my shoulder and the probable cancer aren't related.  Didn't find any sign of lymph node problems on the ultra sound so that is a very good sign.  
Thats about all I know for now.  If people are interested, I'll keep you posted.

Yes, any concern over cancer is of interest -- although right now I'm going to bet, and hope, that it's not.

Mcgarp, please keep us posted. For us old geezers this hasn't been a good month; last week was the 40th anniversary of RFK's assassination. But I feel optimistic about this; it's not cancer. Maybe it's a mini-ball...

Just wanted to thank you guys for the kind and positive thoughts.  My plan is to be as optimistic as possible no matter what I find out, but also be realistic.  My opinion is that is the best way to approach it.  Depending on what happens, I may not be updating for a while so don't think I fell off the earth if I don't bring any new news for a bit.  Thanks again to everyone here!  This really is a nice, friendly site to belong too!

Well didn't learn as much today as I had hoped.  Surgery to remove the testicle will be done on Friday.  Thursday maybe the strangest day as I am going to be banking some sperm for precautionary measures.  Maybe I can take a laptop in with me and log on to this site!  Better not count on it!
As I said it will be removed Friday and a biopsy will be taken from it then.  Bigger risk for spreading dangerous cells if they do a biopsy while it is still inside me.  
Been told its about a 95% chance that it is in fact cancer.  Darn curable though so after a month off of work and some radiation hopefully I'll be good as new, sans the weight of one testicle!  
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!

Thank God I have my 36DD Fiance' in the docs office or the waiting room ready to greet me!
