A study in contrasts:

As reported in a tweet by Maggie Haberman of the NY Times:

Quote
Pool was ushered into Broward Health North hospital at 6:55 PM and was positioned at the end of a long corridor.... The hallway was empty aside from a doctor and security personnel.

POTUS, FLOTUS, and an unnamed doctor walked down the hallway at 7:09 PM and POTUS spoke to the media for roughly a minute.

"The job they've done is incredible and I want to congratulate you," POTUS said as he shook the doctor's hand.
The president said "yes I did, I did indeed" when asked if he met with the victims.

"It's sad that something like that could happen," Trump said.

He said he was impressed with the speed with which first responders reacted, calling it "record-setting" and "in one case 20 minutes."

"It's an incredible thing," POTUS said. POTUS did not respond when asked in the nation's gun laws need to be changed and then walked into another room.

Motorcade was rolling at 7:15 PM.

That's 20 minutes in a hospital for photo ops with the staff - see top image below. And then off to a party at Mar-a-Lago.

As posted by Obama WH photographer Pete Souza on his Instagram account:

Quote

Dec. 16, 2012. Newtown. After meeting with families for hours, he sat alone in a classroom before attending a prayer vigil: “....This is our first task — caring for our children. It's our first job. If we don't get that right, we don't get anything right. That's how, as a society, we will be judged.

And by that measure, can we truly say, as a nation, that we are meeting our obligations? Can we honestly say that we're doing enough to keep our children — all of them — safe from harm?

Can we claim, as a nation, that we're all together there, letting them know that they are loved, and teaching them to love in return? Can we say that we're truly doing enough to give all the children of this country the chance they deserve to live out their lives in happiness and with purpose?

I've been reflecting on this the last few days, and if we're honest with ourselves, the answer is no. We're not doing enough. And we will have to change.”
(emphasis mine)

I really, really, really wish I could post a direct link to Emma Gonzalez' speech at an anti-gun rally in Florida today. But as one of those who made it out of the school alive, she's a bit too young to be shown here.

So go look for "Speech from  student Emma Gonzalez on guns and NRA" on YouTube.

A transcript doesn't do it justice, but here are some passages anyway:

We know that they are claiming mental health issues, and I am not a psychologist, but we need to pay attention to the fact that this was not just a mental health issue. He would not have harmed that many students with a knife....

If the President wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it was a terrible tragedy and how it should never have happened and maintain telling us how nothing is going to be done about it, I'm going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association.

You want to know something? It doesn't matter, because I already know. Thirty million dollars. And divided by the number of gunshot victims in the United States in the one and one-half months in 2018 alone, that comes out to being $5,800. Is that how much these people are worth to you, Trump? If you don't do anything to prevent this from continuing to occur, that number of gunshot victims will go up and the number that they are worth will go down. And we will be worthless to you.

To every politician who is taking donations from the NRA, shame on you.....

In February of 2017, one year ago, President Trump repealed an Obama-era regulation that would have made it easier to block the sale of firearms to people with certain mental illnesses.

From the interactions that I had with the shooter before the shooting and from the information that I currently know about him, I don't really know if he was mentally ill. I wrote this before I heard what Delaney said. Delaney said he was diagnosed. I don't need a psychologist and I don't need to be a psychologist to know that repealing that regulation was a really dumb idea.

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa was the sole sponsor on this bill that stops the FBI from performing background checks on people adjudicated to be mentally ill and now he's stating for the record, 'Well, it's a shame the FBI isn't doing background checks on these mentally ill people.' Well, duh. You took that opportunity away last year....

Well we know Trumpelstilsken has a behavior at the lower scale of human beings. Stone age like, like his voters, supporters and his goons from GOP.
Anti-social behaviours lack consideration for the well-being of others. Any types of conduct that violates basic rights (human rights is one of them) of another person. It can show as covert or overt hostility.

Interesting. Looks like many of the Trumpelstilsken voter were without their knowledge manipulated by russian agents through social media ...

And I said "many" not "all".

LOOOOL. Dumb people are easy to manipulate.

And that the operations started 2014 isn't that far fetched for me.
Since 2014 in German social media I saw similar behaviour with pro Nazi party comments, destabilization of parties from the spectrum with democratic values, Pro Russia and Putin trolls. Things that got more and more in 2014 - 2016. Many had this strange feeling something going on.

EDIT:
And probably this board is also undermined by russian agents! Didn't we see in the last 2 years things in THIS THREAD similar like:

"HillaryForPrison" or "Hillary is a Satan"

btw. #HillaryForPrison is a hash tag on Twitter started in St. Petersburg Russia. The slogan "Hillary is a Satan" coming from St. Petersburg Russia, too.
So either we have russian agents here or just people that like to be used by russian agents. I mean I can clearly remember "Russia Today" links were posted here in this thread! I opposed those links, that's why I can remember this well.

I really would like to know from people that posted Russia Today and spread the "HillaryForPrision" hash tags how they feel as russian agents, as being used by russian agents? Must be a great patriotic feeling walking and driving throug the US while knowing that you are a enemy of the US - a traitor to the US, a traitor to western democratic values.

I did. Wow. When a high schooler speaks more fluently and with more knowledge of the situation and of what to do to change things than the occupant of the highest office of the land, something is fundamentally wrong.

The suggested videos included the one from Samantha Bee from the Orlando shooting in 2016 and it was titled "Again? Again." and nothing she said there is any different today. Nor is the monologue that Stephen Colbert gave in 2016. On this most recent tragedy the one from the ladies of The Talk included Sheryl Underwood speaking so eloquently and with barely restrained anger and saying "we're sick and tired of being sick and tired" of this. Jimmy Kimmel let 'em have it also: (in so many words) "if you don't think that something needs to be done, you're obviously mentally ill."

Can't link to the 2016 Sam Bee video but the quote there, directed to the "Christians" in Congress who continue to give "thoughts and prayers" while saying there's nothing they can do to stop this is instructive.

"You heard the man...the biggest, most helpful thing you can do to ensure that this never happens again is sit quietly in a room with your eyes closed, talking to nobody. Wait a minute, we pray after every mass shooting and yet they keep happening. Maybe we're not praying right. Can we check the instruction manual?

James 2:17: 'Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.'

Oh, shit! We were supposed to do something while we prayed?..."

btw. wasn't Trumpelstilsken before the election so critical about military and the attached industry and it's swamp? Or did I miss something from the pre-election phase? I had the impression international conflicts would be something he is not intersted which means no military presence, etc.?

Maybe I'm totally wrong and can't properly remember. But if this is true how does it fit that he now wants to extend to more and more spending money to the military?
Maybe too much military in the government that advice him this?

I think fascist nations and dictatorships did the exact same. Spend more money to military. Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Francisco Franco, Ion Antonescu, ...

And interesting is was fascism really means from it italian origin. It fits so well to Trumpelstilsken and his goons. It is all about a mob/pack.

Nope, Trump was very pro military during the election. Its practically a plank of the Republican platform that big military spending=good. Obama got raked over the coals by the Republicans for doing some trimming to the military budget.

But didn't he want to pull out of every conflict because he tought the US shouldn't do anything in this regards? Meaning the military isn't neccessary outside? Even wanted to pull away form the NATO?

Trump had said anything to get elected. Hence his record of the most liar of all president. I would not quibble of what he has said. His words are worthless. His actions however will take decades to undo the damages. I think it is important to note that many of the promises that got him elected weren't that important to his base.

I had an interesting discussion with a "MAGA" fan and he said that we may not agree on politics, but I have to concede that Melania is the most beautiful first lady we ever had. Frankly I prefer Michelle over Melania in many ways. She is fitter and more fun to be with, and smile ever so often. She has nice eyes and all real, no plastic surgery involve. Mostly she is solid like a fitness instructor, her arms doesn't shake.

As subjective as beauty can be, I disagree with him. Of all the white women who have been First Lady, she is the...least natural. Jackie Kennedy Onassis is much prettier than Melania is. I believe he may be confusing Melania with Ivanka ;)

I hear that Dollie Madison was quite a looker in her day.

Is it true? Far right wing extremist Nazi terrorists say that Parkland massacre in Florida didn't happen? Same for Sandy Hook massacre? That parents faked the deaths of their children? That Parkland pupils that talk public about the massacre are actors paid by FBI?

Just because these parents and survivors want more weapon control? Because they realize Trumpelstilzken is a showman but not a president. That he doesn't care if people die because of the lack of weapon control?

How is it possible that this happens without consequences? That's not free speech. They destroy the lives of parents and surviors of the massacres. It is free speech that you can talk the truth against politicians, the truth against government, but it is not free speech to destroy the lives of normal peoples.

How sick are these right peoples?
