Not photos, but it's a book ABOUT boobs
Tits Up: What Sex Workers, Milk Bankers, Plastic Surgeons, Bra Designers, and Witches Tell Us About Breasts by Sarah Thornton.
Not a technical or lascivious look, but a social and cultural look at boobs, tits, knockers, hooters, etc.
Each of the 'groups' in the subtitle gets a chapter.
Sex Workers: Thornton visits the Condor Club, where Carol Doda bust out onto the scene, to chat with the entertainers about their breasts and their role in their work.
Milk Bankers: She visits the Mothers' Milk Bank in San Jose, which collects, stores, and then ships out breast milk to those who need it. And chats with women who donate their milk to such banks.
Plastic Surgeons: She actually sits in an OR and observes an implant removal, and discusses all the ways women shape their breasts via surgery.
Bra Designers: She gets to sit in on a designer's modeling session at Old Navy, where they discuss the design and manufacture of bras and lingerie - and why the standard scale of sizes is stupid, and why they have to refer to nipples as the "apex", and wonder why men can show their nipples and women can't (even if covered by clothing)
Witches: She attends a "women only" Wiccan retreat, and discusses the connection between breasts and the divine.
Make of all of that what you will.
Reading the last chapter, I couldn't help but wonder why women can have 'women only' retreats like this, but when men have them, they're an object of ridicule and derision......
I'm also wondering if a man could write a similar book that would be accepted by publishers and the public....
OK, have an image of the book's cover.....
