1. Let's take a look at the times between postings with attachments, shall we?

#324597 - 03/06/05 01:05 AM
#325014 - 03/06/05 08:28 PM

Less than 24 hours - I'd edit the last attachment out before one of the mods gets to you first.

2. Christ, man... what are you? Matsugane Yoko's PR man or something?

3. Random Yoko-chan pic.

Don't mind me. Just passing through.

I think too in Japan that their intense focus on honour and behaviour means they are much better at hiding displeasure at doing things.

The west is very selfish, each person mostly focused on their own individual career and not in seeing the larger picture. Japanese are not as such.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...

(pant, pant...)

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...

You, ma'am, obviously know nothing of modern Japanese society....

The basic thing which is ingrained in most Japanese from [censored] birth is Don't rock the boat. The concept is called wa (和) and basically means something like "group harmony"... it has nothing to with the Japanese having more or less discipline, that is up to the individual, it's simply a cultural thing. So, when a salaryman works 50+ hours a week and never sees his family, it's not that he has any great desire to do so, it's simply what he does. He's been taught not cause trouble for his coworkers. While things are slowly changing away from this method of thinking, it's not going away anytime soon. Honor has nothing to do with it... that's a romanticed fiction created by novels, movies, and spin doctors.

Okay, I know it's bad form to reply to your own post, but on second reading, my response to Squirrelgirl seemed a little too harsh when I didn't intend it that way, but due to the incompetent way the scripting is handled, editing your posts causes massive fuckups with regards to HTML and non-ASCII characters.

Anyways, Squirrelgirl, no offense intended - just trying to clear up some misconceptions about Japan. Gomen, ne?

1. Damn my terrible timing!!! Im working on Greenwich mean time, so a day has passed. I hadnt read the site rules clearly enough e.g. 24 HOURS between pic posts, rather than a whole day. Thanks for the heads up anyway.
2. I wish i was her PR man! That or Harumi's..hmmm.
3. Nice Pic!

Thanks for that Zatoichi! I might have got caught out by the mods by accident if you hadnt done that! Domo Arigato.

Digging the whole contemptous laughing thing
I kinda thought the same thing but since ive only ever MET a few Japanese people and never been to Japan I didnt think it was a great idea to start making broad social commentary.

Oi, Zatoichi, while your on the subject of wa, how bout' goin' over honne and tatemae for peoples.  I'd do it myself, but too lazy.  Just figured while we're on the subject of Japanese social etiquette and boundaries, we might as well cover the board.

Well, maybe not, Doggo, but I forgot to mention that one of the chapters and two of the outtake clips feature Yoko jumping rope in a blue bikini.  You can imagine what that looks like.
