Tin can ( Navy slang for a Destroyer type ship. Sailors who serve on them are called Tin can sailors. First appeared in great numbers in World War 1, they were called Submarine Destroyers and normally displaced 400 to 700 tons. A modern Arleigh Burke class from the 1990's to today displace 8600 tons to 9800 tons depending when they were built. )
