451 (the degrees in Fahrenheit at which book paper burns)

Not really.

"So, Ray Bradbury’s claim of 451 degrees Fahrenheit belongs here and to be fair to the master of science fiction – in his day, this was the number that was most widely believed to be true.

He couldn’t have known that his book about the burning of books (and thus, the title “Fahrenheit 451”) would catch on so well that the number would become permanently associated with the temperature that paper combusts at.

However, all the modern evidence says that Bradbury’s number is probably a little on the low side. In particular, old textbooks (of the kind burned in Bradbury’s book) seem to burn at around 481 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s not a huge difference but it is significant enough to be interesting.

This does not mean that if you throw a book into an oven at this temperature that it immediately bursts into flame..."

Death Valley, California. ( Where it was recorded )

To be precise: at the Furnace Creek Ranch.

The history of the record is pretty fascinating:

"The standard measuring conditions for temperature are in the air, 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above the ground, and shielded from direct sunlight. Global surface temperatures as a whole have been monitored since the 1880s when record keeping began. According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the highest registered air temperature on Earth was 56.7 °C (134.1 °F) in Furnace Creek Ranch, California, located in Death Valley in the United States, on 10 July 1913. This record was surpassed in 1922 by a reading of 57.8 °C (136.0 °F), registered on 13 September 1922, in ‘Aziziya, Libya. Almost a century later, this record was decertified, making the former reading in Death Valley the World's highest official temperature again. The decertification of the former record in Libya has since cast doubt on the validity of the 1913 recording. If the 1913 record were to be decertified, the highest established recorded air temperature on Earth would be 54.0 °C (129.2 °F), also recorded in Death Valley on 20 June 2013, and in Mitribah, Kuwait on 21 July 2016. There has since been a higher reading of 54.4 °C (129.9 °F) in August 2020, at Furnace Creek, that is pending validation."

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.
