I posted this yesterday but it is gone today. I hope it stays today. The commentary was back in the 1950's they were experimenting with all sorts of new technology and that this was real. They even proposed nuclear powered ones but the hazard of derailment and accidents was too high especially in crowded urban areas so that didn't fly.

The Robot Next Door Project

That is oddly... discomfiting to me.   

I find most of the RobotNextDoor project like that.  Perhaps I should post them in the disturbing images thread. The short loop video had the foot bobbing, which made it slight less discomforting
