I think this YouTube comment covers it fairly well.
"It's sobering and frightening, in a way, when you realize for the first time that the chief executive doesn't care about the nation he has sworn to serve. That every president you've lived under, whether you voted for them or not, shouldered the burden of their office. They may have made decisions with which we fervently disagreed, but there was never any doubt that the decisions presidents made were made with the best interests of the nation at heart. Not so, this man. He does not care about you. He doesn't care about America. He cares only about adulation and money. He is, by every measure available, a bad human being."
The main point is this. It doesn't matter what political party he heads up and/or represents. Any occupant of the Oval Office behaving this way is bad news for the country
as a whole. The problem is that for most conservative Republicans, as long as a bad policy doesn't affect them personally, they don't give a damn about the consequences. If you're a Congressperson, you have great healthcare, you're getting paid a good salary, not to talk of all the other perks of the office besides. So as far as they're concerned, devil take the hindmost.
That's not how it's supposed to work. There's a reason why we call people elected to office "public servants."
