I have to agree with mcgarp that 7th gen Corvette is sex on wheels, I saw one at a car show in an amazing shade of dark red (think the color of a can of Dr Pepper) and I was blown away, I always liked Corvettes (except for the 84-96 4th gen cars), I was always partial to the 68-82 3rd gen ones mainly the drop top cars.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Pontiac that came out with the first full automatic after WW2 ? And that 1941 Chevy is a handsome car. Didn't sell too many due to Pearl Harbor though.

I see at least one and often 3 or 4 model S(es) every day I drive around LA. Admittedly, they're crazy for fancy cars here and lots of folks can drop $70-90K no problem. Tesla just had their first quarter in the black lately... quite an accomplishment, all things considered. Of course, almost half of all electric cars sold in the US are sold in CA (SF and LA account for most of them). I think the Model X will sell even better when it's released since it's cheaper and more like a cross-over (currently popular car-based SUV design).

The just-about-to-be-available BMW i3 (small and weird-looking as it is) is interesting to me... it's supposed to drive very well (much like a BMW 3-series). And I've probably seen Fiat 500e(s) around but didn't know it... there are SO many Fiat 500(s) around here now (more than a dozen spotted even during a short drive in LA) and the visual differences for the electric-only model are slight (grill, mirrors, etc...). Chevy dropped the MSRP on the Volt (not a true electric, yes I know) by another $5K which gets it into the high 20s for the first time (after federal tax credit). Caddy's version of the Volt (the much more costly ELR) is almost out soon too. Fisker's in bankruptcy, which isn't a surprise... though their electric w/generator sedan was pretty, it had all kinds of problems (which makes Tesla's very-highly-rated Model S all the more impressive).

It's hard to make a car, let alone one based on an new drivetrain and manufactured by a small/start-up company.

when I lived up north, my next door neighbor had one (used.) It was a nightmare of electrical problems that no mechanic would touch. the Delorean only reached 88 mph in "back to the future."

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible. Tail fins were never so big and in the 1960 model they toned them down. As huge as it was/is, there were bigger Cadillacs, and this was considered the sporty Cadillac at the time. After all, it only had two doors.
