Graphing Movie Quotes
« on: August 21, 2014, 10:40:17 PM »
So I came across this site where a graphic artist looked at the list of Top 100 Movie Quotes as selected by the American Film Institute, and decided it would be fun to illustrate all of them graphically - the sort of graph or chart you might see in a Powerpoint presentation. Some were good, some were meh.

I doodled around a bit at work, and decided I could do some of them better. Whether I'm right or not remains to be seen.... But anyway, I further thought I could make a sort of quiz out of it. Post a graphic, and ask for the name of the movie that is the source of the represented quote...

I'll start off with something easy:
rtpoe

Well, it's a marvelous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
'Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow...

Van Morrison, Moondance

That's funny, Pal. I was rooting for Jack Nicolson's character.

Right movie, but it's "If you build it, he will come."

For this one, remember that it's the movie, not just the line.

Sidney Poitier used the line "They call me Mister Tibbs!" in In The Heat of the Night (1967); he made They Call Me Mister Tibbs! three years later.

Pal says: that's two for me! :D

After this, you're on your own!

Sunset Boulevard.  Movie about a aging silent era movie star who did not adjust to either talkies or TV.  Starring William Holden and Gloria Swanson.    I think the quote is " I didn't get smaller, the pictures got smaller " or something like that. Am I right or am I full of shit ?

Pal says: you're right Solve... and lucky you saw it before I did. ;)
