Getting rid of Jackson is just a bit of over-PC., etc.

The "he was a man of his time, cut him some slack" "argument" can be extended indefinitely throughout history, thus making it possible for no one to ever be held accountable for the evil that they did. Especially not the white settlers of this continent, whose genocidal tendencies have had repercussions that echo to this very day.

I do agree, though, that I have a soft spot for the island boy Alexander Hamilton, one of the country's first "Slick Willie" lawyers (or am I confusing him with someone else?)

No matter who you choose, the SJW crowd will find some way to be offended. Maybe we could take everyone's face off of money and just use pictures of animals.
As an animal lover, I'd actually like that.

I agree: animals instead of people. There's already precedent for that in U.S. currency... the noble buffalo. :)

For the record, "SJW" is a term of contempt used by extreme right-wing fanatics to describe anyone who disagrees with the use of ethnic slurs in public discourse.

It has been applied to Mitt Romney.

The animal idea has merit; perhaps the rattlesnake or the beaver this time. Both are uniquely American animals, unlike the buffalo.

How about the Bald Eagle?

Fine with me, though it has been featured before and is still a supporting player. I was suggesting animals which are unique to North America. But if we want to look elsewhere, perhaps we could feature the dust mite, since it co-evolved with us:

Just for the discussion, eagles have been used a lot on various national markers, if not on currency. This link discusses how the German flag assumed its current appearance, and why there is no eagle on it:
