I think there might be a bug somewhere, this is what I'm seeing     (its an extreme example, just to show the size of avatars now, most are normal size)

You're probably right, but could you please send me URLs for pages where you're seeing these? Also, your OS and browser info.

You're right about the whole thing: it only happens to avatars that are links to the attachments database, and only tall ones. Thanks for reporting it!

You're right about the whole thing: it only happens to avatars that are links to the attachments database, and only tall ones. Thanks for reporting it!

It's odd -- i saw this get fixed server-side on friday. For instance, the following avatars from the example screenshot should be 125px tall:

The bug hasn't been fixed server-side yet. I manually fixed the two in Escher's bug report (plus 1 more in the same thread).

The bug only applies to avatars that were linked to files in the attachments database prior to the installation of the new software, so it's more prevalent in old threads.

This is interesting. Your browser didn't download the custom font that they are using for icons. I do get this font on chrome (and opera) on iOS... I think lack of support for custom fonts is a known issue for opera mobile on Android. Try upgrading your Opera to a newer version or switch to a different browser with better standards support like Chrome (yes, i pains me to say that, but...)

Don't know if it's a bug or a feature but I noticed that at least one word which is/used to be verboten ("Book of Face") now shows up in a thread, unasterisked.

Yes, I noticed this too... not sure if I wrote it down someplace, but ALL the autocensored words can now be typed out intact. Presumably, the BEA's billing company has the same rules it's always had, so we'll make a note and get that list of censored words back into efect ASAP. Thanks Zook.

Facebøøk shouldn't be in the censored words list –we only prohibit direct links to that site– but myspäce shouldn't be there either, because we removed that restriction altogether. We'll fix it when we can.

Facebøøk was in the censored words list so the autocensor would break any facebøøk links posted in the forum, but that's the only reason. It's perfectly ok to mention or discuss facebøøk. We apparently forgot to announce it in the rule update thread, but it was stated many times in various other threads.
