chat function disabled... here too... been kicked out several times too. How about we open another chat somewhere else? I mean the provides don't seem to care about that problem. Any suggestions?

You can create your own discord server if you want a user friendly alternative. Just leave an invite link here so everybody can join!

I'd create a Discord server except I don't have the time or skill or patience to manage one, unfortunately.

Three months and counting for the problem in the Archive's chat. Two months with no response (not even an acknowledgment) from the BotComics customer-service portal.

Today, 16 July, I finally received a response to my ticket. They reset my password, and asked me not to share my account with other people - even though I have never done so.

The chat room is still kicking me out in a matter of seconds, giving me an "Invalid IP address" error. In fact, the failure is almost immediate, worse than before.

Just for shits and giggles, I tried the chat, and it does the same to me.  Since I've been showing 0 people in the chat for days, maybe weeks, it's obviously doing it to everyone.  They might as well just shut it down.

To change Forum settings so that you see 50 topics per page:
Go to Forum Profile
Hover cursor over "Modify Profile" button in top left
Select "Look and Layout"
Scroll to "Topics to display per page", select 50 in dropdown menu
Click on "Change Profile" at bottom right of page.

You can also change "Messages to display per page" to 50 in the same way.

I don't know what the people running the site (or at least the forum) are thinking. There's obviously awareness of the problem (given their response). They marked my ticket "SOLVED", and then when I responded with my observations that the Chat was continuing to generate IP errors, re-opening the ticket, they again changed the ticket status to "SOLVED". It seems to me that if a problem is marked SOLVED, and you attempt to perform the action causing the problem and the problem recurs, the problem is NOT SOLVED, and I have updated my ticket to BotComics accordingly.

Honestly, I miss the camaraderie in the Forum Chat when things got rolling. It was another social circle of sorts, something which helped with maintaining sanity, and for it to be left to rot as it has is kind of depressing.

Apparently the support system has changed - I stumbled across the new customer support link from the main site login page.

I got the following response from customer service:

Fixing this isn't among our priorities right now.

We are working hard on other projects. I'll keep you posted if we fix this but it will be in the future.

Apparently fixed? After five months? Logged in just out of morbid curiosity, and managed to remain in the Chat for fifteen minutes (and counting) without IP kicks.

I saw some downtime for the forum yesterday morning; I wonder if that was related (possibly a restart of some hardware that needed it?)...

ETA: nuts, still giving the same problems for others.

Yeah, yesterday morning My connection was ended and for the rest of the day I had a database error through this morning. I've been using the same bookmark for years but it doesn't work. I had to manually type and I got into the forum but now I'm having trouble getting into the User Gallery and into my Botcomics subscription.  :P ??? :(
