Here in Yorkshire , northern England..... @ 17.23 hrs it's 25c ( around 77f) with light winds , 4mph sse....Unusually the humidity is a very low 32% !  ..... We're currently having a little burst of hot weather here..... Normal service will be resumed shortly ! 

Temperature and humidity are very different here. 77F or 25C is considered low here in Las Vegas at this time of the year and 32% humidity is somewhat high. 

  Yes .... The difference is that you live on the edge of a desert .  Where I live , there is a range of low mountains that go north/south and do affect the weather flow / patterns . They are about 10 miles west of me . They are known as the 'Pennines'.....  In the winter , you could have one side all snowed in , yet the othe side can be bone dry ! Generally tho' , the UK is known for being a rather damp and dreary place ..... You wouldn't like it if you came to visit in the middle of winter !!..... lol...

Las Vegas is well within the Mojave (Moh Hah vey ) desert and it is at a 2500 foot high valley surrounded by mountains from about 7,000 feet to 10500 feet high and it averages about 4 inches or 10 centimeters of rain in a year. The State of Nevada is the dryest State of the USA and about 90% of the State is a desert and it is bigger than Great Britain. There are ten American States which are bigger than Great Britain and Texas, even though it is not by size the biggest state in the USA, if it was a European Country, only Russia is bigger. Winter can be cold here like 25F or -5C but it doesn't happen too often. Summer can be 100+F or 39+C from May through September.
