Back in March 2021, this SpaceX Starship landed perfectly but about 10 minutes later it blew up.  :(

No need for the sad face, sol, they definitely knew there might be RUDs (rapid unexpected disassembly).  That’s what rapid prototyping is all about.  Build them and see what fails, then improve.

Below, great shot of a Falcon 9 launch.

No pun intended, but that's hot!

If those are the names of the landing platforms/ships someone is a fan of the Culture series.

Yes, those are the names of the platforms.  I’ve always wondered what the references were.  Thanks!

Starship 24 on its way to meet booster 7 on the orbital launch platform.  Will it launch before the end of the month?

The first images from the James Webb Space Telescope have been released!

"NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has produced the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date. Known as Webb’s First Deep Field, this image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 is overflowing with detail.

Thousands of galaxies – including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared – have appeared in Webb’s view for the first time. This slice of the vast universe is approximately the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length by someone on the ground.

* President Joe Biden unveiled image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, known as Webb’s First Deep Field, during White House event Monday, July 11

* Webb's sharp near-infrared view brought out faint structures in extremely distant galaxies, offering most detailed view of early universe to date

* NASA, partners will release full series of Webb’s first full-color images and data, known as spectra, Tuesday, July 12, during a live NASA TV broadcast"

Looks like Booster 7 has suffered a serious anomaly during testing today.  Will it delay the orbital flight?  I have to say, absolutely.  Check out YouTube for the video. https://youtu.be/05Yiw7_JTXY
