Today, July 16, 2022 at around 9:06pm GMT the BEA chat hit 5 people for the first time in what seems like forever.
This totally random event prompted a discussion regarding some manner of structure to have a suggestion for a target time to possibly have even bigger turnouts.
What was so special was that some users from the "old guard" were there and there was a great deal of remembering and story sharing and simply catching up a little. I mentioned that if nothing was posted soon afterward that I could post here to just test the waters.
It seemed best to just pick a day of the week and time of day that would maximize the opportunity for both old and new users to check in and not have to randomly hope that there was someone around in chat. In other words, a peak target time to check in and see if you wanted to share.
Suggested Peak (peek) Time - any Saturday at 10:00pm GMT * in the BEA Chat
This is an open call and there may be dozens or nobody, but we wanted to put that out as a common target time. There is no set topic or length and people can even show up earlier if it works for their local time zone. This is just to improve the chance of find people actually in chat.
It was great to see the Harold, Assault Kitten, sk8rpunk, bigboobed, Nimrod with interjections by Kirthara. It was a great to cover so many topics and simply catch up with the OG and learn about and greet newer BEA users. As a teaser, here are some topics we covered:
The Great Palomine Mystery
Doxing and an Instant Ban
Obsession with Penguins and Ducks
What to do on Standbroke Island
Dublin vs. Reykjavik vs. Amsterdam
Avoiding UPS kidnappings
and other riveting topics
So, if anyone is looking for the best time to peek in on the BEA to see if chat may be active, try any Saturday at 10pm GMT or whenever people post events here or other such meetings.Again this there is not set topic and this is just a common time to check.
