And no sooner than I create my own thread I then see my electric bill.  My electric bill has doubled since I started running Stable Diffusion locally.  I knew it used my GPU, but more than I thought.  So with that it looks like I may bow out of AI art for now, or at least updates won't come nearly as often.

Not gone, just ghosting more.  At least until GPU's become more efficient or my power rate comes back down from insane highs.

I have solar panels and it isn't enough to offset all of the power the household uses due to our computers.  My wife, my son, and I all 3 have PCs with powerful GPUs.  My son is on his all day long.  I am on mine off and on for watching YouTube throughout the day and to generate AI art here and there.  If I power off my PC alone our power bill drops $120/month.  It is a powerful beast.

I need more solar panels, but I need more roof to hold them.

I too have solar panels on my roof but by far the biggest user of power is my air conditioner. Even though I keep my house at 83F, when it is 110+F outside, my air conditioner still runs a lot. My windows are tinted, which helps a little, but it still hot. Inside the house I wear a swimsuit which is comfortable. I only have one computer, so I don't blame it that much. Another thing that helps is that my place is only 1300 square feet in size.
