Heavy Metal Magazine

Do you remember Heavy Metal, the adult illustrated fantasy magazine?  It had nothing to do with heavy metal music.  It was my “go to” place to exit reality back when I was in college in the early 80s.  So many fantastic artists had their work featured in the pages of that illustrious rag.  I’m not really sure when it ceased publication, but it did spawn the creation of two animations.

I just recently found out on IG that someone is trying to restart the magazine and has started a kickstarter csmpaign toward that end.  I wish them luck.  I don’t think I’d like to try to restart a physical magazine of any type in this electronic webzine world.

This thread is for posting pix from that publication or the movies that it spawned as well as any discussion of anything to do with that topic.

No.  It was not.  National Lampoon had more to do with Heavy Metal than Bob Guccione ever did. LOL!

I think, if it was done well, it could be successful.  I'm going by the fact that Penthouse re-started Penthouse Comics as a paper magazine, and it's been doing well enough that it's now in it's second year.

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.
