I agree with RX....A ton of makeup, bottle blonde hair, tons of hype, shit-ass music....  Feh.  A roomful of them and a buck'll get you a double cheeseburger at Mickey D's.

Several months back VH-1 ran a 'special' on Spears.  Most of what it did was tout how she spent her money.  And I mean spent. she only buys the 'best' of everything.  $30 hamburgers, $5000 - $10,000 alligator handbags 2-4 at a shot.  There is some type of underwear made from wedding veil material that goes at $300 a pop and she buys a years supply worth.  Her freaking hair is cut by $3000 self-sharpening surgical steel shears made in Japan.

With as fast as she spends her money when the little baritone can't sell albums anymore she will be broke. Quote from show "Britny Spears has to have the best of everything." I earn less than $9 an hour.

The only talent she has is for pole dances and I have never been in a strip club.  Yes I'm less than 'impressed with her.

One more thing.  Shortly after she hit the scene I heard on the radio several DJ's talking about her.  One stated that for the new people one thing that is done is they are taken on mini-tours of radio stations to show what they do and and get airplay.  One said that after Spears strip-down routine he felt like he needed a shower.  Spears was 15-16 at the time and her mother was encouraging her to 'work it'. And the guy did not think she was that great then.

Finally this whole wedding thing.  I believe she thought that the quickie Vegas wedding deals were a tourist attraction, and not for real.  Only after it was done did somebody finally convince them it was for real.  When she signed the marraige license her name was barely legible.  When she signed the annument papers she signed very carefully and clearly.  Someone make her go the hell away.

She is a nearly talentless, unoriginal bubble-headed camera-whore in my opinion, and whatever latent attractiveness she may possess is overwhelmed by the tasteless image she sells.

To think that there are adolescent girls out there who go to her concerts and buy her albums and have her posters on their walls is saddening.

(I'm not referring to the young closet lesbians.)
(For them and the young men who might have her posters on their walls, well, I think there are better bods to decorate your walls with.  But that's just me...)

Oh, yeah, she'll be in Playboy before it's all over.  Playboy wants the sales, she'll want the notoriety.

I saw that show Cutter, but after listening to them tell us about her jet trips to her favorite coffee store...well I just couldnt stomach her anymore. If you have so much money, you use what you need, but you dont throw it out on stupid BS like she does!

She makes me sick.

Universal justice would be that she's broke before the end of the decade.

God I hope not.  That would be a step down for the Adult movie industry.

OK, I know I’m asking for it, but here goes anyway.

Why all the hate for someone who’s made so much from so little?  Is she of limited talent?  Absolutely.  So what.  A few years ago someone probably said to the little Mouseketeer, you’re cute, you can dance a little, sing a little, you might have a career.  She went for it.  Made a fortune.  She’s set for life.  Who among us would have said “No thanks, I’d rather bag groceries”?  I don’t get it guys.

And we’re also angry with her because she spends her money.  What a novelty.  What a terrible thing that she re-circulates her wealth.  Better that she horde every last penny of her hundreds of millions – maybe put it in a nice little Certificate of Deposit where it earns 2%.  God knows she needs the nest egg.  After all, someday she’ll have kids, and have you seen the cost of college tuition lately?

What’s particularly amusing are the protestations concerning her virtue.  How dare this little tramp shake her booty and tease us like that.  Even though she’s never so much as exposed a nipple, we here at the BEA just don’t approve of her kind of behavior.  After all, we come here to discuss Nietzsche and quantum mechanics.  Sure, if a women insists on exposing her body parts we’ll probably take a look.  But that’s our call, not hers.

Here’s today’s pop quiz:  If you can look in the mirror and honestly say, “Given the same opportunity, I wouldn’t have gone for it,” then have at her.  Otherwise, spell “hypocrite” 500 times.

I can honestly say I wouldnt. I would take the life of fame, the money, the whole package. But I wouldnt become a role model to little girls all over and then reinvent myself into a trashy woman and send the wrong message to those impressionable fans. I'd use my money wisely. I wouldnt horde it, and I would spend it, but not the way she does, at every passing fancy. Also, I would use my fame for good causes, and not just gloat and enjoy it as she does.

OK.  But don’t confuse what Britney is with what the entertainment press tells you she is.  Britney Spears can do nothing without it being turned in to a distorted, hyperbolic fantasy.  For better or worse, she’s the world’s biggest pop star. If she buys a ring worth $5,000 the headlines will say it was worth $50,000.  If she leans her head on a friend’s shoulder, E! will announce a passionate affair.  There’s no doubt in my mind that too much of this can cause the kind of emotional breakdown that Mariah Carey endured.  As for re-inventing herself, it’s ironic that she gets skewered for being too trivial, and then skewered again when she goes for something a little bolder.

And if you think a pop star can have the fame and fortune without the mantle of role model, think again.  It’s not a choice, it’s thrust upon you by dint of pure visibility.  Whatever her perceived image, and notwithstanding the rumors, she has yet to pose naked, drive her car into a group of school kids, or turn up on the Internet in a grainy home video with an old boyfriend.  She’s an adult.  She takes the stage to entertain.  What should she do up there, a polka?

We also know so little about what famous people really do with their money.  Many of them give surreptitiously to causes and charities.  They’re in a lose-lose.  If they don’t give, they’re greedy.  If they give and announce it, they’re trying too hard to court the public’s favor.  Believe me that’s how it works.  So they give and keep it quiet.

We are so inundated with garbage passed off as news by media outlets that have too much time and space to fill, that we all think we know the story.  The real guilty parties, in my mind, are the moronic entertainment shows and columnists who use the likes of Britney Spears to fill their pages and airtime. These tabloids make an industry out of fabricating other people’s exploits, and then assume an air of superiority to the very individuals whose sullied reputations they’ve used to line their pocketbooks.  Now  that  disgusts me.

Ive got to agree with Hothitter here. Not cause Im a Britney fan, no. I horribly disagree with whats become of her. But because I just plain agree. Basically everything said is true. I dont get why all of a sudden its a bash Britney party. What about Christina Aguilera? Only thing she can do is sing, and she has yet to produce a CD with more than two good songs on it. Britney does four each time it seems. Wait, third one flat out sucked, forget I said that. Then we have the image. The real Christina is a sex crazed slut, whose starving for attention. Matter of fact, I just heard on the radio a week or so ago (Been meaning to post it) she has confessed to loving sex (Read that in was it, The Enquirer months ago? Guess they arent all lies) and now she admitted to enjoying doing it more with women. Something about it excites her more. And we all know how shes angry about not getting near as much air time from that Madonna kissing scene as Britney. Why are we bashing them to begin with? Why do we even care what they do? Lousy media, so hard to get a story they have to stalk **28**, or give people more coverage on Iraq.

Britney, to me, is like that article said. Shes the kinda person that seems to inadvertantly be teasing people. The kinda woman that would drop her bra, look at you and say "Whoops, did I do that?" Think thats what it said.

Sides, you can say a million times what youd do with the money. Question is, if it was handed to you now would you back it up? I see this as one of those "Walk A Day In My Shoes" kinda deals. And that kind of crazy spending seems to be going around. What was it, couple hundred dollars for a pair of cargo pants that Jennifer Aniston wears? That look just like the stuff you see in JCPenney daily?

What is the deal with that look on her face? Showing a nipple and you look like that?

And honestly, I hope she never does Playboy. But once again, I prove Im the man who likes his women clothed.
