Funny, you mention 'Horse Whisperer', Druul. I know the author of the book and he told me after returning from the film set that Redford was great and the film actually portrayed his book quite well, but the great revelation was the young actress, who was absolutely brilliant.
I saw the film, but when i began reading about the much acclaimed 18 or 19 yo Scarlett a few weeks ago i didn't immediately make the connection. Of course she's blossomed into a pneumatic beauty.
I haven't seen any of the other films she's been in, but i thought 'Lost in Translation' was a wonderful little film and Bill Murray was brilliant...and she was so accomplished.
Then today i saw 'Girl with the Pearl Earring'...thought it was brilliant, and she was stunning in the lead. The film will be too slow for many, but if you appreciate art, you'll appreciate the subtleties of the film....very low-key and atmospheric, catching the detail and quality of Vermeer's paintings.
