I am assuming this is for someone else, but makes no difference. You would not want to give fenugreek to someone who is dieting or hypoglycemic. Hypoglycemics have abnormally low levels of glucose in their blood. I think the most common type is when blood sugan drops to very low levels within two to five hours after eating. This person might experience tremors, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, heart palpitations, nausea, blurred vision, headache, cravings for sweets, swollen feet, constant hunger, nervous habits, insomnia. Also, people with hypoglycemia are often aggressive and lose their tempers quite easily. Eating sweets or fats might trigger any of these symptoms within a couple hours. It is believed that poor nutrition is a cause, ie: eating large quantities of simple carbohydrates, sugars, alcohol, caffeine, and sodas, and inadequate amounts of complex carbs. Immune defeciencies and candidiasis(yeast infections) are common problems of hypoglycemics.
If the woman who is going to be taking the Fenugreek doesn't seem to fit a hypoglycemic profile and isn't dieting, she should be okay to try it, but go slowly. When indroducing herbs always start with only one herb at a time, never a combination of herbs that have never been used. That way a reaction, if any, can be clearly linked to a specific herb. I hope this helps.
