Sadistyk,

I don't know the actual numbers for the Panthers or the Eagles on defense, but seeing as how the Eagles allowed less points in their game against Green Bay than Carolina did against St. Louis, I'd pick the Eagles.  They're both tough clubs though, that fight all the way to the last second of the game, so it should be a great game!  If you ask me, whoever wins between the two is going to be the odds on favorite to win the Vince.

Brett Farve has invented the "Pete Rose Pass".  It's kind of like the "Hail Mary Pass" but you bet on the other team before you throw it.

Allowing the Eagles to convert that 4th-and-26 didn't help the Pack, either.

Well, considering that John Kasey was clipped in the Dallas game the week before the Panthers lost to the Eagles(yes, he got clipped) and ended up missing three field goals.  Then again, the official was the same one that called three of the Panthers' losses.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how it can be a late hit before the whistle is blown.  That, and how can sacking the quarterback be called as roughing the passer(Julius Peppers).

Granted that the Eagles have home field advantage, that means little now(ala the Rams).  The Panthers did beat the Packers as well.  My pick is the Panthers by 3.

Good call. I was disappointed in the team as a whole. You have a team beaten for 55 minutes and then blow it. Twice in one season. Offense, defense, coaching, no one is exempt. I'm still a fan though, it just wasn't their time.

Well Favre did state that if the Packer won the Super Bowl this year he'd retire.  Guess we get another year to see if the Packers can do it.

W00T!  The Panthers win over the Eagles!

Looks like it's going to be the Patriots vs. the Panthers.

The Eagles looked like shit. I can't really say I fault anyone on that team. Philly is a really tough place to play. The pressure to win was so enormous that it transcends the game. Yeah I love football, and I always have, but when it quit being fun, I quit playing. Who was having fun out there? The Panthers were having fun, and they won the game. Why? Probably because their success was not expected, having been a 1-15 team just two years ago.
They were loose, and able to adapt to the plays because they weren't necessarily worried about needing an armed escort when it came time to leave the field for the day should they lose. An organization that caves into that will push you until you blow your f*cking brains out. ONE MAN CANNOT WIN A SUPERBOWL.

In other news I really hope the Panthers win, you know, for Sam. Anyone else hip to Sam Mills?

Yeah it was probably the weather, at least in part. It's difficult for any dome team to adapt to that kind of environment... just sloppy. I dislike the Patriots too, although they do have a solid organization. The fog bowl was enough to make me just not like them at all.
