When the Seahawks joined the NFL as a expansion team in 1976, they were placed in the AFC West. So Denver and Seattle were divisional rivals. In 2008, when the Texans joined the league, to balance the conferences, they moved Seattle to the NFC and that is how it became possible for two teams which were in the same conference and division for a bunch of years to get to play each other for the championship game.

Seattle moved to the NFC West in 2002 not 2008

So who are the people in Vegas backing?  I think it will be a very good game since it is strength vs strength.  #1 offense vs #1 defense.
Hope everybody enjoys the game.

Unfortunately, my neighbors have transplanted from elsewhere and feel it is necessary to scream every time Seattle scores. I gather from the sound of it that Seattle just scored again.

Dan Savage found this county-by-county answer to the poll, "Who do you expect to win the Superbowl?"

Dan is not a forgiving sort, but I want to thank that county in Southern Wisconsin, that county in Southwest Pennsylvania, and that county in Central New Jersey:

I heard Floyd Mayweather dropped 10.3 million dollars on the Broncos winning it. Oops.

Meanwhile, I know who I'd want to take down...

What a blowout, I didn't expect that.  First championship for Seattle since the 70's and that team is no longer there.  Fireworks going off of the Space Needle.  They are **94** more than Starbucks in Seattle now.

Congrats to Peyton Manning who was named Sports Illustrated's athlete of the year.Which means he was on the cover.Which means there is no way in hell the Broncos are going to win the Super Bowl.
Don't believe me?
Tony Romo was on the SI cover 3 weeks ago.Since then, the Cowboys are 1 and 2.They barely beat a crappy Redskins team, the Bears scored 5 straight times to beat them and the Packers had the biggest comeback in their history when they defeated the Cowboys. That's saying something considering how old that franchise is.
On top of that,Romo was injured last week and might not play this Sunday.
I'm telling you when it comes to football players, the SI cover jinx lives!

It was all foreseen in 1988 by Norma Moriceau, a costume designer in Hollywood. She has designed costumes for Road Warrior, Patriot Games, Babe: Pig in the City and a number of others, including Crocodile Dundee II. Five minutes into the movie a girl in a Seahawks jersey takes on a boy in a Broncos jersey.   ::)

The betting line here in Sin City was for Denver. The sportsbooks made a killing. I was told by one of the managers that we in the Luxor ( The House in other words ) cleared two million bucks alone and we have a relatively small sportbook. At the beginning of the game orange was everywhere. By the fourth it wasn't so. Heck, there was a contingent of Raider fans cheering almost as loudly as the Seahawks fans.  ;D

The jinx lives!

You ain't kidding.  :P

I can tell poor pedonbio is in mournful agony right now as his Seahawks greatly disappointed him by humiliating the Broncos. But seriously, the very first play set the tone of the game and I'm glad I missed most of the game. One of our employees suffered a accident and I had to respond and afterwards write the report and, of course, when you are killing lots of trees, it takes a lot of time. I then heard the game was 22 - 0 in the half and I was glad I was missing another Super Blow Out. After the report, I saw the fourth quarter and you could see the Broncos had no fight in them.  :(  I missed the post-game hoopla when a guest suffered an accident ( alcohol related ) and I had to respond to that. It was a very long day for me ( 7 AM to 9 PM ) and I just returned home and crashed. I do feel bad for Manning and someone in Denver should torch the Sports Illustrated offices.

I heard that Floyd Mayweather bet $10 million...on Denver winning. Oops.

I heard today that 68% of the money was on Denver.  So, Las Vegas did quite well.

I knew the Seahawks would win, but even I didn't think that it would be such a rout.
