While thinking about that missed opportunity when Pamela Anderson appeared on JSM, but not in any scene with Laura, I was reminded that Raquel Welch had originally been up for the role of Nina (which went to Wendie Malick).  Now if Raquel and gotten that role, Pam had guest-starred, and NBC had let Laura be in a scene with both of them, wouldn't that have been a nearly perfect overabundance of talent?

SPADE ON LSG #3 - (Physical) Sometimes you just gotta dive right in! Once again, since the writers weren't going to write a scene where Finch would grab the goodies, they wrote one where he took a looong faceful. I don't think Laura is acting, with that "Enough, already," look on her face.

HISTORIC MOMENT!  This gif captures the scene where the excellence of Laura's set is publicly acknowledged for the first time.  It came midway into JSM season 2, episdoe 18: Nina advises Maya to walk up to the guy she's after with her shoulders back and chest out, then delivers the classic line: "Good god, Maya! Can you even see what color your shoes are?"  Of course sharp-eyed mammary connoisseurs had been attentive before this, but from here on out the jokes and comments about LSG's top-heavy torso were standard fare, and soon those 3 words - Laura San Giacomo - meant just 2 things even to the general public.  Her IMDB bio reads, "Nominated for two Golden Globes." Yep, they're golden all right!

Shoulders In - Boulders Out!  Later in the same episode Maya follows Nina's advice and one lucky actor doesn't have to ignore the elephants in the room. But he was playing a nice guy, so he couldn't just grab a couple of handfuls. But I bet he flubbed his lines a few times in order to require re-take after re-take of Laura pushing those sweater-bombs towards him.

Maybe another reason Spade left Laura out of his memoir is because she didn't show up at this movie premier braless in this t-shirt, like she'd promised. You can't raise someone's hopes (and other things) like that, then disappoint him and expect to be forgiven.

I think this is the most nude (nudest?) LSG got on screen, from 1994"s "Nina Takes a Lover." Even though Laura was a few years from reaching her maximum, post-motherhood, potential, it would've been nice if that actor (Paul Rhys) had lifted his arm for just a moment.  How many times did he make them redo this scene?!
