I discovered another 80's sexploitation motherlode at a local outlet mall. Blockbuster is apparently unloading a number of their previously viewed and played merchandise at sales only (no rentals) outlets. I was overjoyed to finally catch a copy of 1981's
C.O.D.: A low-budget Chris Lemmon farce that made a handful of appearances on USA Up All Night. This is notable here in that it's whole plot hinges on big tits. Lemmon plays a private eye hired by the failing Beaver Bra company to sign 5 of the worlds most famous and famously endowed women to a million dollar campaign. the candidates include. A movie star (Corinne Alphen) known for her "heaves". The presidents daughter (Theresa Ganzel!) a closet freak. A European countessa who's throwing an S&M ball. A black supermodel. and the most impressive of the bunch (and most underused) a big busted German wrestler (Dolly Dollar). Also featured are a D-cup disco queen and the villains mistress who stays pushed up and out in her attempts to sabotage the mission. Again the film is low budget and seems washed out. The whole thing looks filmed on location even scenes in Berlin and europe. Most of the plot is scripted around a love intrest. There are a few very brief instances of toplessness Alphen's is the best, though Ganzel let's a tit loose in the disco scene. But the main reason for the purchase was the scenes with Dolly Dollar any background on this woman? again her scenes are brief and contain no nudity but she easily has the best rack of the bunch, through the amazing Alphen gets the most screen time. The other oddity is that the flick is rated PG on the box and tape in spite of 3+ instances of bare breasts
and a neon sign reading "The Fuck Is On" in the S&M scene. I'd love to see a remake with
Laura San Giacomo, Lisa Nicole Carson, Nikki Cox, and Jennifer Connelly.
Also on my list for my next trip out there is the grandfather of the sexploitation genre "What's Up Front" a stag satire from 1958 concerning a door-to-door bra salesman piques my interest. Plus the gamut of Police Academy rip-offs including "Recruits" and "Night Patrol" with Linda Blair and Kitten Natividad. There are also other oscure titles I've forgotton including another Corinne Alphen comedy an erotic drama with Matilda May and Virginia Madsen etc. etc.
I spotted Angela Aames in a "Night Court" cameo yesterday as a Dan Fielding conquest.
Be on the lookout for other big tits from this show. I have an old fuzzy copy of the episode where Fielding gets a sweater bursting "airheaded" assistant played by an actress whose name escapes me now. reruns are shown at noon on A&E.
