I was just thinking about CA, as a matter of fact.

If you scrape off the "Moulin Rouge" makeup, which makes her look like a whore from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse, she's not bad looking. (I don't use "ho" because I am a) white, b) over thirty, and c) don't give a shit about slang.)

As far as her behavior is concerned, there's an article in the latest issue of YM that makes her seem like a spoiled rich bitch. (Okay, okay, I was looking at YM magazine. It was a long line in the supermarket and I was bored. Besides, CA was on the cover.)

She's got definite self-esteem issues. Anyone who sings "I am beautiful, no matter what you say" without intending irony is only putting on a show with the diva routine. "Tries. Too. Hard." is right on the mark for a description. Give that man a cheroot.

What you've got with CA is a very scared, very frightened woman (with a hell of a voice), who lives in mortal fear that people are going to hate her. Bad or absent father, perhaps; maybe an abusive childhood? Hence the big diva act: be indifferent to everybody and everything before they can be indifferent to you: "Let's you and him fight--preferably over me." She wants to break your heart before you can break hers. Oh, and she's *attractive*, so women will resent her good looks and men will think she's not good for anything but screwing. I call it the "Daddy's little slut" syndrome.

Not to be a prick (too late), but I thought her name was Deborah. Am I wrong? Either way, her current flare for gawdy fashion, clown makeup, and fetishist clothing would fit in right nice with LoA.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I think she's a cutie too, if a bit scrawny. And yes, she has a heck of a voice.

Ridicule all you want for this, but her music is really pretty good for lifting and dancing.

I saw in an article somewhere that she really likes to mess around with makeup. Kind of speaks to the DLS disorder. I agree with the thought that someone got to her.

100 - Deb IS one of them - but the (on Farstucker and on the last tour that I saw, anyway) main vocalist is Catherine.

As Palomine said in another thread,why cant we appreciate all the different aspects that make up that great thing called women.
The thing i like about CA is the role she plays in that "Dirty" video.It doensn't mean sh'es like it in real life.Its just a character she plays,and one i like very much.

And apart from that,she has one hell of a body on her

While I've never actually listened a Christina CD, from what I have heard she is definitely a better vocalist than Britney, but I don't wanna turn this into a Britney vs Christina debate. The problem is that they are both in the wrong business.. no one *really* wants to hear them sing, we wanna see them oiled up and fucking the hell out of each other.. right? It could just as easily be Jenna Jameson doing the Pepsi ads, except she was smart enough to know what (where?) her real niche is. It makes me sad when I think of those poor girls spending all that energy running in the wrong direction.

I know part of it is just P.R. image, but that image is just a bit too "skanky" for me as to put it. Someone also needs to tell her choreographer that 9 times out of 10, a squatting dance move is not sexy.

Wow...deep psycho-analysis. I know nothing to back it up, but it sounds logical. And while I'm on the subject, let me toss into the hat that a male version of this is more-or-less my theory on Eminem. I may refuse his movie, but I am smart enough to know that he does a damn commendable job in it, because what is he doing? Playing the same persona he plays all the time in public. Can you imagine anyone really being like that? It's too big; it would be EXHAUSTING, physically AND emotionally, to be that person all day, every day. When he does, though, he does it convincingly (to those who don't know better), and I think underneath he has SERIOUS problems...and this is why I find it interesting that the two seem to hate each other so much.
