Yeah, SHC's way overpriced! You can, however order the CD where Butterscotch gets her boobs blown up. I subscribed just in time to see her boobs get shrunk back down (*crap* >_<).
On a lighter side, I'm aboot to post some BE manga (never before seen here) but it's a little SM.

Thanks,

I was going to list the BE stuff at the Process, but I think the site might have been deleted.

About BE comics, we (BE fans) are just a small fringe.  When most people go about making a webcomic, they try to target the largest group of web users.  That's why there are so many anime gamer comics.  Gamers probably make up the largest percentage of webcomic readers, and they can get linked from a big site like Gamespy.

I'm sure many of the other reasons (especially from Seelie) also apply.

yes, we are a very small percentage, but we're one of the larger groups of our interest, and we have our writers, artists, and whatever, so wouldn't it make sense if we all could work together on a comic or some kind of project that would target only us BE fans instead of the majority who likes flat anorexic girls?

I don't think The Process was deleted, it looks to me like the whole Transfur server is down (again).

Work together on a comic

In reply to:

To do so efficiently, it might be good idea to make three sets of lists, so that it will be easier to team up for those people who are interested in such projects. One list of what each person is willing to contibute with, and one list with weak spots and a third list of what genre of comic and other story events that might be of interest.

Here is a small list regarding me, I know a small list like this will not be complete, but it might be a start?

Possible contributions:
  • I can clean sketches/drawings/scans/photos as I'm good att removing distracting dirt and mending lines etc.
  • I've been fiddling with a story plot for a short story, that might be able to make a cartoon of, but it's not finished yet.
  • Photos (but not of humans) taken with my digital camera. (Might be useful for scenery or base material for objects in the cartoon.)
  • I don't have much experience, but I would like to learn and practice at coloring images in different ways/styles, but not too fancy.
  • I can provide lots of inspirational material (scanned from comic books, newspapers, books and from material I've collected from the Internet etc), to use as a character base for someone to further change and evolve into new characters, or take events/jokes etc and put our characters in a similar situations. (If I provide such inspirational material, I insists that it should only be used by the persons directly involved in doing the comic together with me, and not distibuted any further unless permission is given from the copyright owner.)

Problems
  • I'm lousy at sketching and drawing straight from my imagination. To make a half decent drawing I need something I can see with my own eyes as a base.
  • I'm not good at repetedly draw the same character in different poses, the proportions etc usually gets messed up between frames so that it doesn't look the same.
  • I'm not a good writer.

Genre
  • Fantasy
  • Adventure
  • Sci-Fi
  • Comedy
  • Action
  • Super hero
  • Competitions
  • Furry
  • Body Swap
  • Inflation
  • Stuffing
  • + Many more

I have enough story material and character background on the setting and events in the area where my avatar comes from to keep a daily webcomic going for at least 5 years.

Problems:
I cannot even picture it properly I am so word oriented and non-visual. This means I have a real hard time breaking it into the chunks needed for such a story-telling method. Would be great for animation though.

I'm a real flake and need someone to me every once in a while to remind me to stay on the ball. On the positive side, since I know I need and deserve it, I'm rarely bothered by it when someone does it.

hmm.. seems like a lot of us are either a words person or a visual pictures person... and that none of us has ever done a comic before...

any of you have DONE a comic before? maybe those few of you can help us start out.... since it seems like we have no idea where to start... lol...

ok... and for those of you with stories, can you talk about it here so we can have some ideas of where to start and what we can agree on?

My stuff was done mostly for roleplaying. Designed a while country plagued by the half-demon offspring of a succubus. My avatar is one such. Any story set in said kingdon would not be primarily erotica. It'd be very much like Pulse or PeEvEed by Lightfoot, where you have several busty characters living their lives. Not to say sex doesn't happen, but just that it would never be the focus.

I didn't claim there shouldn't be other comics, just trying to explain why there are so few BE comics.  I doubt anyone would complain about having more comics.  Especially in this case, more is always better.

I've done comics before.  In fact it seems that several people have mentioned me in this thread.  I could help or give some advice, but I shouldn't commit to anything regular- I already have several webcomics.

The first thing you really need to do is to pick an artist (or two, if that's the case).  Then you need to choose exactly who is writing.  You could have a team of people that jointly do everything, or split up the different jobs.  One person writes the basic plot, one the actual story, and the third write the dialog (after viewing the art).  It would be best if you had several people, each doing one aspect of the comic.  Writing, art, lettering, html.  An assembly line would work if you want to update M-W-F.

It's best to figure out who's doing what before you start deciding what you're doing to do.  The artist is very important, because certain styles (like anime) work best with certain kinds of stories.

Also the artist may impose certain limitations to what he/she is willing to draw.  You'd want to get that out of the way as soon as possible.

Lightfoot is right - a comic is a hard thing to put together and an assembly line is probably a good idea but then the problem which that introduces is one of communication.

If anyone is interested I've written about 15 strips of a BE comic, no BE yet but it's down the line...

Some of the most popular strips are assembly line.  Up until recently "MegaTokyo" had Rodney Caston (Largo) writing and Fred Gallagher (Piro) drawing, though now it's just Fred.  "MacHall" has Ian McConneville drawing and sometimes writting and Matt Boyd writting.

With "MegaTokyo" Rodney and Fred rarely met in person.  The only times they really met were for appearances at anime conventions.

In the case of "MacHall" the 2 people involved really haven't met (as far as I can remember reading) in person.

The Japanese beetle had two people working on it, and a few of my favorites have as many as 3. I know of one (forget which, with 4 (writing & web stuff, pencil sketches, inkng & scanning, color).

And thanks for the advice Lightfoot. I was hoping you'd chip in since you've got the most experience out of anyone here.
