afaik...

anime = the cartoon style in general

hentai = pornographic version, i think i read somewhere that it translates as pervert

ecchi = not actually pornographic, think more sort of benny hill type sexual humour, more accessable sex content, usually comical to some degree.

manga = anime comic books

dojineshi (spelling) = hentai comics



one of more of those may be inaccurate, wikipedia would be a good place to check, but i coudlnt be bothered.

    If your looking for a good hentai video, I would suggest Milk Junkies. I believe there are 2 parts that have been released so far and the tits are pretty amazing. Very well drawn.

The word hentai has no meaning when describing porn in japanese.  It refers mainly to people who look at "perverted" images.

"Ecchi" is the japanese pronounciation of the letter "h".  It has NO sexual meaning in japanese.

A doujin is a fan comic (sexual or not) of any sort of series, mostly anime.

Anime is the japanese word for animation.  Not only japanese animation, but any form of animation.  ('Steamboat Willy' is anime to japanese, the same as 'Spirited Away' is)

Ecchi, as I understand it is how the letter "h" is pronounced and has no sexual connotation, but in regards to manga, ecchi (or "H") stands for hentai which does. I am still confused as to whether it refers to the art form or the fan though.

Well what I'm confused about is how "ecchi" and "hentai" came to be two different categories in manga circles, because the word "ecchi" is indeed the Japanese pronunciation of the letter H... H being the first letter of the word "hentai."  From a semantic standpoint, "ecchi" is to "hentai" as "porn" is to "pornography."  Why these two are different in terms of manga is beyond me.

And with all due respect, to say that "ecchi" has no sexual connotation is like saying the English word "fucking" has no sexual connotation.  The word "ecchi" is very much a real word in Japanese conversation, and sexual is the only type of connotation it has.

Just a warning on Equation of the Immoral, it has a lot of transgender transformations in it, ie, DG's. As far as I know Hustler put it out on the American market, but only subtitled.

or someone spelling something out with the letter H in it is secretly swearing? I would've thought that the letter existed first...

Haha, no.  Aside from just saying the letter H in such situations (in crappy asian mispronounced fashion), the word "ecchi" evolved into a word pertaining to sexual stuff because H is the first letter of hentai.  For example, an "ecchi person" is a lewd person or a promiscuous/perverted/randy etc. person.  An ecchi video is porn.  To say "let's ecchi" is to say "let's get it on."  Or "I ecchi'd her last night" is to say "I fucked her" and so on.

The funny thing is that in the manga collecting circles I travel in, Hentai is used almost 100% of the time to mean x-rated, whereas ecchi is used almost not at all.  I have no idea why.

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.
