i think jodie chose them, not the other way around. her career was bordering on being in tatters after her MTV reality show was revealed as a sham, unbeknownst to the producers, so a stunt like this would seem an obvious way to get her back into the limelight, deservedly so or otherwise.
personally, i think she cuts a very pathetic and tragic figure, but her image i love - slutty, cheap, rough and ready, and packed full of plastic.
