About ripping off...
« on: August 15, 2006, 03:28:21 AM »
Some UG pictures really float my boat..

...and I feel motivated to contribute; to add. Because of the attractiveness of who is in the picture.

I post those back to the UG with all original logos plus my own.

Is this unethical? Is this hacking people off / ripping work off?

Should this be discouraged or controlled, made to carry a proviso -or what?

I have wondered about this... and have annoyed one of late; not my intent.

Should this stop?

Please, your feedback.

When you take a morph that another morpher made, add minor changes, paste on your logo, and repost it, that's going to anger or annoy some (perhaps most) morphers. They've already done all the hard work, and then you distort their images and claim credit for them by attaching your logo.

If you do your own morphs, instead of imposing your uninvited "corrections" on the work of others, no one will become annoyed at you.

If you like an image so much that you want to do your own morph of it, ask the morpher to send you a copy of the source image of the morph.

I never put logos or my name on my work. I just don't like labels anyway. I couldn't care less if I get credit for the image or not. I noticed someone used one of my morphs for a **18** page today. Actually kind of flattering. Ha.

OK,

this is about respect - by posting a "remorph" there is an implicit diss on the first.

Not intended- the motivtion is enthusiasm for the work!

Anyhow the way forward is:

a) do not post remorphs of other's work, unless
b) the other has been asked & has OK'd posting

I think it is a matter of personal choice. If you want to take a photo that has been morphed without permission, by someone that took it from someone who produced it, without permission, then where is the harm to the original morpher? How could he be mad that you took it without permission, when he did the same thing most likely?

After several years of morphing pictures now I only request that my logo remains on the morphed image.

I normally do not post the originals in my uploads and I will, if I am able to, email original pictures to anyone who asks. My email address is on here.....just click on my username.

I have seen my morphs used all over the Internet.....along with many of my peers as well. If you want to add something to what I have done....it's not a big deal to me really. Throw your logo on there along with mine if you want to.

I've mentioned the following in other threads as well.....create yourself a logo and use it on your morphs. I had morphed a picture that Sako had done and his work is so terrific that I did not realize it was a morph.

Of course I was immediately attacked by someone worthless, but that's no big deal to me either. I publicly apologized to Sako for my screwup and suggested the "logo" option.

What I do now is PM the uploader and ask permission to work on the pics they upload if I suspect it is a morph.

Speaking only for myself it's just a courtesy I extend to those who do this hobby of mine.

Everyone has their own thoughts and all.......finally there are so many beautiful women out there and so much to work with.....no matter where the originals come from.

Let's morph on.....
WHEN STARTING OR ANSWERING THREADS/POSTS, LINKS ARE SHOWN TO PROVIDE SOURCE INFORMATION INSTEAD OF JUST COPYING/PASTING PERSONAL OPINIONS.
