Not sure how well known Jess Franco is internationally, but it's nice to know he and Lina had a lot of fans.

Quick explanation for others: Lina Romay was a Spanish actress in the 1970s who mainly worked with her husband, the director Jess Franco.

The best Franco story is when he turned up unannounced at the office of the Swiss producer Erwin Dietrich with a script for a movie. Dietrich gave Franco some money to shoot the movie back in Spain.

Franco duly delivered the negative and Dietrich distributed the movie in Europe.

A few weeks later, Dietrich was passing a cinema in Zurich and saw that Franco already had a new movie out. He went to see it and discovered that it used the same cast and the same locations as his film.

Franco has taken the money and made two movies, keeping one for himself.
