When the members rip other gallery owners to shreds, it affects me in a negative way. As a fellow gallery owner, I feel the need to stand up for other people in my position.
And even though I update my gallery typically once a month, when these other guys who came before me get slammed as harshly as they have been of late it does damage to me as well.
I was as close as I have ever been to ripping my gallery down until the Mark T thread was closed for good. But the right thing was done, so I've calmed down a lot.
A solution to this problem isn't easy, but I do have a few suggestions.
1. On the menu, seperate the galleries that still get updated from the ones that don't. Call them galleries "from the past", or what have you.
2. Put this exact sitution (members do not have a set amount of updates or a set time do these updates) on the sign up page for membership. Make it clear as day, that there is no policy towards it. If people sign up, they do. If they don't then they don't. At least then people can just be referred to that page when they feel like complaining.
3. If you have a gripe with a BEA gallery owner and want the Owner to do something about it, then e-mail him (repeatedly if necessary). He is the one who can do something about it. It's not necessary for everyone to complain about one person in public like this is High School. This is not a government with elected officials from every corner of the boob-world. The only one when it comes down to it who can get rid of galleries is the owner. Not the people who chat in the forum.
