They clearly have no hobbies. At least not any more.

Well, it's a marvelous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance

And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow...

Someone should introduce them to the rubber....But since they're in the South, and clearly reaping it in enough to support a small army, I guess following the Republican dogma has served them well so far.

Their choice appears to clash with our first-world sensibilities. But does the
basic premise of Pro-Choice allow us to support abortion-on-demand while
denigrating baby-machines? Would we similarly judge a couple proclaiming
their 19th abortion?

Until the US idiots propping up the illegals' efforts to sneak here, and then they go bankrupt paying for the onslaught of anchor babies, I can only laugh.

Why?

I have watched three different shows about this family and find the whole affair very unnerving.

Every time I hear that they have had yet another one it just feels more and more forced. Everything about it becomes that much more cult like or artificial. It is almost like they are trying to justify the number by having yet more!

I also feel a pang of sympathy for the ones born into this group. The parents have control and the choice to have 17, 18 or whatever they end up with. But, their offspring do not.

How would it feel to be, say number 11 of 18? In all the shows I have seen they make a conspicuous effort to show how the parents are not neglecting or marginalizing any of their herd. But they accomplish this by making all things equal, except for the rigid gender roles of course.

Out of the shear necessity of their circumstances, they mechanically move through a hyper-scheduled life inside their home schooled enclave, eating repetitious cafeteria quality food and wearing cookie cutter clothes all the while parroting back the exact same party line that their parents have been feeding them from day one like a human xerox machine.
Even the selection of names is mechanical, forced, homogenized, and in my opinion, indicative of an almost callous disregard of individual identity if it were not for the feeling I get that it speaks more of a basic lack of creativity.

So, the question is, "What are these people trying to prove?" After long consideration it looks like they are just trying to have "as many Ch!ldren as God will let us".

My prediction for them is this:

They may have one or possible two more but by that point age and probability will catch up with the mother and they will give birth to one severely handicapped or have major gynecological problems that will effectively stop the baby-mill.

By that time some of the oldest will start to question or simply become aware of alternative ways to live and want to express themselves thus initiating a schism in the fold.

If any of them is able to counter the years of growing up in this family they will help define an "escape route" for a few of the younger ones. This will precipitate a fragmentation of the group, not all of it, and most likely made up of those 2nd or 3rd born of each sex.

The parents will allow these break-aways to occur in order to keep up the appearance that they are loving and supportive parents when in fact it allows them to redouble their efforts on the younger portion still under their control.

We may see another documentary about then or a "what ever happened to them" type show or book possibly spear headed by one of the break-aways or  the parents in order to legitimize their life decisions.

In the end about 1/3 will mimic the parents, another third will go on to have more average lives, and 1/3 will be really really really screwed up...

Except for number 11, I think they will be OK... what was their name again?

These people go to show that it is very easy to be a father or mother but very difficult to be a mom or dad.
BE Together...

Even when I was net admin for the border I saw it.  They tried to come across at 8 months to give birth here for their precious anchor babies.  They know what they're doing, and even if they didn't, so what?  You are the product of your parents' choice, illegal or not.  Only today the liberals make me almost want to vote with Bush because they want to lay down and give everyhing to the illegals.  Sorry, can't do that.
