I'm back! And I'm continuing my manga translation!
« on: May 18, 2008, 07:48:40 AM »
Once upon a time, I used to visit this forum. Some of you may even remember me (at least one of you does, it seems). Then, I completely lost interest in big breasts...

YEAH, RIGHT! No way that'll ever happen. :P

There wasn't any particular reason why I stopped coming here, my participation in online communities always goes in cycles, and I was just busy I suppose.

A lot of things have happened since then. I graduated University two years ago, and have been living in Japan for more than a year now, doing a PhD at Tokyo University.

Which brings me to my next point. If you remember who I am, you'll probably remember I was working on a manga translation. As I stopped coming here, I also stopped work on the translation. I had completely forgotten about it until I posted here for the first time in years and saw the old link in my signature. Not wanting to leave things as they are, I've decided I'm going to finish it. I'm still very busy so I don't know how long it'll take, but even if it takes me another three years, I will finish it!

I have re-uploaded all old pages to the Yahoo group. Chapters 1 through 5 are all old stuff you've seen before. Chapter 6 you've seen up to file number 122; after that it's half-new (half because I had translated those pages, just not published them).

Chapter 7 is all pages you haven't seen. Up to 139 it's old translations, and after that it's brand new, 10 pages I translated today. After this, there's one more chapter left, and then it's the end of this manga.

As you can understand, since I've been living in Japan, my Japanese has improved a lot (still not as good as I'd like though). Hopefully that'll allow me to complete the remaining chapter faster. I do not intend to go back and correct some of the mistakes of the earlier chapters; they will remain a reminder of how bad I used to be. :P

One thing is that the protagonist's last name, Ichiba, is probably not correct. Considering how it's written in Japanese, it should probably be Ichima. However, I will leave it at Ichiba so the new pages are consistent with the old ones.

I have attached one sample page from the new batch.

Enjoy, and I hope you're not too angry at me for leaving you hanging for so long.

Yippee!

I hardly ever post here but I feel compelled to publicly express my joy at the return of your translation efforts, dilandu!

This is a fantastic manga with wonderful artwork and some really great scenes and I was gutted when the translations dried up. It is good work you do, sir.

Oh, and congrats on your academic pursuits. Don't let them get in the way of your true calling too much though!

I decided I should sit down and finish this, and I have! The final chapter, 20 pages in total, are now available on the Yahoo group. An update of unprecedented size!

In Ichiba's final adventure, he gets to deal with a girl who really doesn't seem interested in studying and can't even answer the simplest questions. Her father is extremely strict and insists that Ichiba fix things! Leave it to Ichiba's friend Hiroki to come up with an unconventional solution.

So that's the last we'll see of Ichiba and his horde of over-endowed students. But is it the last you'll see of me? Perhaps not.

There is a manga I'm considering doing next. It's called "Pururun seminar" (pururun is the Japanese sound effect for bouncing breasts) and is by a different author than Kateikyoushi. It's about a girl, Nanami, who always gets in trouble because of her breasts, which are not only incredibly huge, but also hyper-sensitive. The slightest touch will send her into a horny frenzy. To cope with this problem, she joins a famous feminist seminar at her University, only to find that every member of the seminar is a huge-breasted girl...

The main reason why I'm hesitant to do this is because it's incredibly long. Kateikyoushi was 170 pages, but Pururun Seminar is 1200! As such, if I decide to do this, I don't give any guarantees this time that I'll finish it or how long it'll take me, because I just don't know if I'll want to stick with it for that long.

Of course, if anyone has a short manga that they want translated first, especially if it involves actual BE, I'm open for recommendations (provided you can point me to a place where I can download this manga), but I don't promise anything.

Wow! That was quick.

I'm afraid to say there's a translation of Pururun Seminar currently in progress at tadanohito.net, so it's probably not worth embarking on that massive undertaking just yet. There's a hell of a lot of it left to translate so it may not end up completed but your talents may be best put to use on another project for now, dilandu.

Speaking of which, I'm sure I've got some raw mangas you might want to have a crack at. I'll take a look later and see if there are any with BE scenes (hard to find, but I might have some). If I find anything good I'll PM you with a link.

Thanks for letting me know, I shouldn't waste time on that then. If you have anything good I could translate (BE or not), let me know.

I looked through my collection and found another manga by the guy who did Kateikyoushi, it's called "G-Cup Teacher Reiko". Unless somebody knows of an existing translation of that, I might give that a shot, except I only have the first three volumes (70 pages total), not the whole thing.

I know that http://yotsuba.saiin.net/~baku/miyuki/01.htm was partially translated many moons ago but only a dozen or so pages...

Personally I'd love to see it all translated, it's a great BE story.

Unfortunately I can't find a link to the first dozen translated pages unless someone else can

I think tadanohito http://www.tadanohito.net is in the middle of Pururun Seminar as well as blue eyes (up to BE6 now). I know he (Tada-san) has assembled a few translators for a number of projects. It might be worth a quick look.

Either way, your translations are most welcome as is your presence here.  Welcome back.

Actually, G-Cup Teacher Reiko has also been translated by Tadanohito.  As an alternative project suggestion, Yoshifumi Yamamoto did do a sequal to Katei Kyoushi Bakunyuu Kari, titled Katei Kyoushi Higyaku no Yuuwaku.  It's a little shorter than the first volume, and I can provide a decent quality raw (785x1120) if needed.

I have the first 18 pages of that manga translated by Artican Velbades. He didn't finish that? That'd be a possibility for me to do, then, yeah.
