Skin Shader Experiments
« on: July 05, 2008, 12:14:03 AM »
Still trying to figure out how to get good results in C4D (which has a great renderer) on "skin."  SkinVue (for Vue) does a really good job, but if you want to edit stuff on the figure, Vue doesn't let you and Poser just doesn't have enough flexibility either. The shaders in C4D give nearly infinite flexibility for sub-surface scattering, fresnel effects (used on the dress and skin in this image), etc., but takes an incredible amount of tinkering to figure out how to get decent results.

My latest, for those interested...

What he said.

Gorgeous work.  Your stuff never fails to make my eyes pop from their sockets.

I'm interested. I remember years ago reading about using layer upon layer of sub-dermal texture maps (arteries and veins and whatever) for the CG in some movie, maybe Final Fantasy, i dunno.  I believe you could get desktop software to run rings around what they could do with custom apps just a couple years ago.

Keep us poserd -- i mean posted
