Sarah Palin will slowly (or maybe quickly) slide more and more to extreme right, until one day, in the next few months she is going to say something so outrageous that EVEN FOX NEWS will pull the plug.

Will a real ADULT, MATURE, INTELLIGENT, ACCOUNTABLE Republican please stand up?

Sit down Bachman, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Jindal, Palin, Gingrich, McCain.

I've heard talk recently of Tennessee Senator (2008-present) Bob Corker running for GOP Pres in 2012.  He has no experience.  He ran for Senate becasue he has a big ego, and he was such a cut-throat businessman in Chattanooga that he was able to blackmail or scare away any competitors.  But I must say at least he has some mature, intelligent points.

I guess I lean left, but in this new crazy age, I don't think politicians really represent the classic left and right anymore.  I really love Ron Paul. But the problem is, if elected, he would NOT be able to do the things he wants to do.  I wish NATIONALLY we could just go to the referendum system, used by many states.

We need PAY AS YOU GO!  That would REALLY clear the air and get America back on track.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

I'm all for a family-values hockey mom/pitbull taking a job, now that she quit her previous job. But is she going to broadcast from Alaska? Or move to NYC or L.A. or what?

What will happen to her poor, poor family? Poor Bristol, now that she needs her family the most! Grandma should hang around and help.

Will Sarah commute? How will she get her hunting fix, making due with Central Park? Who will buy her new clothes this time? Who will write all her TelePrompter talk? And if she ever runs for anything ever again, at what point will the (wounded but still alive) FCC Fairness Doctrine kick in?

Most importantly of all . . . how long until "Saturday Night Live" does their own version?

Quote from: onion_writer
I'm a longtime Democrat, but I would have voted for the "old" McCain before he selected such a goofball. Whatever happened to good Republicans? Honest and sincere people with whom you could engage in vehement debate? And disagree, but still respect and do the peoples' business with the next day?
Bob Dole retired.
Almost all the Republicans who rose to national prominence during the Reagan era have been bad, probably because Reagan was so popular that any bum who joined the Reagan Republican bandwagon could succeed.  But Dole is from an earlier time.

Anyone catch Sarah with Bristol on Oprah? Or on any of the entertainment shows' recaps? She's got a new hairdo. Oprah played hardball with them both.

(Let me add that I adore huge tits and shaved vaginal areas; I admit to that freely. But I will never admit to watching Oprah. I just happened to catch it on the recaps :) )

They seemed more hillbilly than ever -- no disrespect to hillbillies.

"This is about the people, and it's bigger than any one king or queen of a Tea Party, and it's a lot bigger than any charismatic guy with a teleprompter...To win that war, we need a commander in chief, not a professor of law..." -- Sarah Palin at the Tea Party convention

You are so ready to take potshots at a former professor of constitutional law while you yourself barely graduated from a sequence of little-known colleges? You say that a respect for the law of the land is unnecessary simply because you are in a so-called war on terror? You mock someone for using a teleprompter to read eloquent speeches while you yourself read crib notes from your palm, and can barely put a coherent sentence together even as you do so?

HuffPost: "Andrea Mitchell Mocks Palin With Notes Written On Hand"

And then you call for the resignation of someone for calling his fellow Democrats "fucking retarded" while at the same time saying that your fellow Republican calling those same Democrats (up to and including the President) "retards" is OK because he was "using satire"??

HuffPost: "Meghan McCain Disagrees with Palin's Double-Standard on 'Retarded'"

Like Whoopi correctly said, when Rush Limbaugh headlines at Caroline's then I will believe that he was being satirical. People just use words as if they don't have meanings these days. Not that I would expect such a poor student as Sarah Palin to know what the word "satire" actually means, of course. She wouldn't know satire if it kicked her in the head. Now this is satire (although it is also true!):

Stephen Colbert: "Sarah Palin Is A F--king Retard"

And finally, re: that whole retard thing, here's Andy Samberg as Rahm Emanuel telling it like it is.

I don't mean to be over the top. I really don't. But watching the rise of Sarah and the Tea Bag Party makes me understand in a very, very small way, a wholly insignificant way, how Germany came to be swept by National Socialism; fear and platitudes feeding the masses hungry for hate.

As I believe I wrote above, I have absolutely no quarrel with rational Republicans, and I wanted to vote for McCain before he picked Palin.

...and that is what is the most maddening thing about this. Why on earth did John McCain allow this woman to even think that she in any way deserved to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? WTF was he smoking??

Zook - you along with the major media are making a major mistake in taking this woman seriously.

To my way of thinking she is such a light weight in a political vein there is no way she will even make it though the 2012 primary should she actually choose to run, yet alone get the Repub nomination. And she knows this too.

The only reason Palin dangles the possibility of running for the presidency is so she can keep the "morans" (sic) in the tea party interested enough to give her a platform. That way she can keep her name out there so she can sell her book(s) and collect speaking fees for events where she has to write crib notes on her hand since she basically shot down ever using a teleprompter like Obama or any other pol or TV host. Makes me wonder if she employees the same technique when she is on FOX. ::) ???

One thing I've discovered is that when you argue with idiots, you can end up like them. So save your breath and don't do it!

And George Bush was a fucking genius! Not like Sarah at all!

The Tea Party movement is a joke, well funded by corporation, and she makes off with a $100,000 purse for speaking, and use the money from the Tea Party to buy off her books.

One of many ironies about the current Republican Party is that there are three or four Republican women who are fit to be president and who could be elected. Two of them (Snow and Collins) refuse to subject themselves to the insult of the nominating process, and one, Dole, is far too rational and intelligent to be nominated by her party.
Someday, chi1dren, this entire fuck-up will be yours.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the key.  The best people for the job are smart enough not to want it.   Instead of this popularity contest every four years, how about the Senate appoints the President?   :P

You are right, SamV, yet I still worry. There are more "morans" out there than you think, and they often vote :)
